OK, well I take back part of what I said...I starting to vibe with this mix now and I don't think it really gets *dark* at all, just a bit harder, more driving...it's still good music to run to, so I like it :-)
Plus Magic Crayons and Ice Beach still kick ass!!
peace.

Upon listening a few times, my favorite part of the mix is the first 20 minutes or so with the upbeat, uplifting progressive trance tunes. The Stalker - Magic Crayons (Maor Levi Mix) is the best mix of that tune produced (good track selection), and the progression into Ice Beach is priceless - the original mix of Ice Beach is the best, I agree. That is one awesome tune!! Mad props to Nick Harding for making another great trance melody to jam to...
The 2nd part of the mix gets a little darker, it seems and it's not so much my style (you kept the uplifting stuff going in Monolith, Somnolent, Lustral) but this mix seems to go for a bit more of the darker, harder stuff towards the middle of the mix...not so much my style.
You pick it up a bit with a few anthemic tracks through the end...but you lost me with the dark stuff :-\
I have listened to this mix about 10 times so far...it's not bad...just a bit different from what I'm used to.
Thanks for still making great music,
All the best,
-Ward

Awesome man, thanks for your input Ward.
About the middle. I obviously meant to include those tunes and have that effect, some people like it some don't as much. I think it's importand though to ground my sets with these types of tunes. If your constantly playing melodically based songs I feel the set can get muddled and boring. Really if done right, these 'organic' and darker type songs can really appeal to anyone imo. Tiesto's great sets in the past were great examples of this. Magik 6, 7. Live @ TranceEnergy 2000 especially. He threw in a few darker, more bass or even techy based tracks that would really catapult the sets to a new level. Maybe you didn't notice them as much or they weren't your style but they provided a very importand function to balance the set. Anyway, lol, I babble but I think that I can always do better with the placement of tracks and this kind of imput really helps me think about it. Thanks! :D |

OMFG I CRY I DIE! I'm totally awestruck with this mix. Damn it is the best progressive trance mix this year for sure! I love each and every tune here (there are very few mixes around which you want to play from the beginning to the end without skipping any track after couple of listens... if you know what I mean), and what is incredible - I don't consider these tunes as overplayed. Most of them I didn't know or heard only once or twice. This is what excites me in your mixes and what I'm waiting for - great, kinda rare stuff. Mixing is excellent as well as blending. When the mix plays in the background I hardly notice any transition, wow. What can I say... probably your best production! but, refering to the above post - you can't satisfy everyone ;)
I'll give it 9.8/10. Only because your potential is infinite...
PS.
I'm addicted to the melody which comes at 42:18 ^^ |
Nice man thanks. :D Means A LOT coming from someone as talented as you.
Yeah, I try to stay away from those obvious, or over played tracks. Really one of the biggest factors in chosing tracks is discovering something new or something that isn't that well known. Or maybe more specifically something that I feel I can really showcase well and make it shine. Idk, I really try to find tracks that express myself and of course make my skin jump. :D
Anyway thanks again for your nice words. Really glad you like. I really do value your feedback.

So ing Great
The Intro Track is Amazing, it's a strange song, has kind of a medieval feeling, I don't know how to explain it properly, it reminds me Castlevania game from Nintendo jajajaja.
As I was listening I was expecting to hear Crayons (Maor Levi Remix), but it was almost 20 minutes and it still didn't come, you had already change the songs and I didn't notice. I think that Magic Crayons it's not the Maor Levi Remix, or I might be wrong, Anyway the track you used there it's very nice and The flow is amazing.
I don't know hwat else can I say
It's just and excellent progression from Proqressive into Trance, this will ear up club I guess.
You never lose the energy, it just keep rising.
Thanks for the mix, you are only getting better at this =) |

Hey man, thanks. Really glad you liked it.
That first track IS amazing! Haha, yeah now that you mention it, it does have that Castlevania vibe. Mea Culpa is from the album Classical Trancelations and is a trance interpretation of a classical piece Chopin - Nocturne. Such a brilliant tune.
Your right about the remix. It's actually the Peak Twins remix. *fixed*

I think this was my main purpose for this set was to build energy and never let down. I really tried to add tracks that would only build energy this time whereas most other times I usually have a resolution or two in there. It's really not easy making a set where the listener is never let down and the energy is always there and I don't think I did it perfectly this time. But that's the great thing about this is that I can always get better and get closer to my goal.
Thanks again your input is always great to hear. :)

Yeah, I must admit that is where I first heard it. MAN his set on that show was sooo sick! Absolutely the best set of that whole round-up. Armin's was a bore if you ask me. The song M.I.K.E. played after Keep On was also a killer. Would have been CRAZY to hear that live!
Thanks man, appreciate it and happy you enjoy.
Again, to everyone for the nice words and the great feedback, thanks. :) |

Can't Believe, I did listen to Classical Trancelations album, How Come I didn't noticed these Track?, It's definitely a Gem, Special Song.
You are just getting better and better, I've experience your progress since last year, and I'm really happy fro you.
Thanks for the dedication and time you take to create these beauties =). |

ok, i finally got around to listening to this
first off, let me tell you straight off the bat that i used to be a huge trance fan back in the day... but have not been an avid follower of the current trance productions because i dont think they compare to the tunes from back in the day
with that said, i was totally shocked by your mix because i really enjoyed it... some of the tracks also had a bit of a housey feel to it, like the tune playing at the 22 minute mark. this mix would definitely tear up a dancefloor. my favorite track was at the 44 minute mark; it reminded me of something that would be made in 98 or 99.
the transitions for the most part were dead-on and very accurate, which is a great accomplishment. overall, excellent flow and good tracklisting... 8.5/10 |
