Clemenger BBDO has created a subway poster that has a fully functional headphone jack imbedded in it, which plays samples of various exclusive tracks available at pepsiaccess.ca. There are close to 100 posters playing 12 different tracks running in Toronto and Vancouver from now until the end of summer.

Every Pepsi comes with a PIN, which can be redeemed for access to ultra-exclusive music, concerts, events, etc. at pepsiaccess.ca. This poster plays a 30 second track sample of “Crazy” by Gnarls Barkley. After an announcer says: “That was a taste of an exclusive track from Gnarls Barkley. Check out pepsiaccess.ca for more.”

Well that's kinda interesting, I guess.

Would anyone cop a listen if you were next to one of these things and had your headphones?

Neat idea. I bet Japan came up with that idea like a million years ago :p

Interesting idea, but I doubt that many people will bother listening. That's why most advert campaigns focus on stuff that pops up in your face even when you don't want it there.

Good idea, but Id give it a shelflife of about 10 hours before it gets vandilised.

That reminds me, TA, get rid of the pop up that comes in your face before the forums!!

yeah i'd probably be too lazy to really care to check it out. if i saw one i'd be like "oh, cool" but that's about it.

I also imagine the headphone hole will be filled with a piece of chewing gum VERY quickly.

WHY would you want to listen to advertisements?!?! I mean, on a daily basis the average american sees thousands of ads, why would you volunteer to listen to more consumerist garbage?!
