Overall, I had a good time. Wasn’t as good as I expected considering it was “the closing party”. I wouldn’t have minded Lavelle’s set if it wasn’t so fucing long! He was doing what he was suppose to do, that is build up for sasha’s last hours but he was building to dam long and I thought I heard a few train wrecks but wasn’t really paying close attention. I think he plays a lot differently when he’s headlining. It was definitely my worst time at Crobar but comparing Different nights at Crobar is like comparing different times you had sex – There are good times and ok time but in the end its still sex. I got an hour of it on video and it looked more fun on video than I remembered it being haha. In the last two hours when sasha was on, I remembered thinking to myself, “this is why I came all the way down here!.”. It was worth the trip from MA.

anyone notice the people that tried to dance on the stage in front of the booth? the best was the kid in the white shirt that went up not once, twice, but three times and got das boot the third time by the bouncer. what a dumbass.
Groundhog Boy
Found this "review" thread of the event in the West Coast boards. Lots of ripping on the shirtless guidos, who I somehow managed to avoid all night. The pics are priceless

Anyone know the name of one of the tracks that Satoshi spun towards the end of his set that had robot-esque vocals that said "_______ ... TE-LE-VISION... POOOOWER!"

I know that's not very specific at all but the track was hot so I figuire I'd give it a shot asking.

yeah well the point is it's a much bigger deal for someone who goes to sasha gigs regularly over the years to hear that song at this time from him... it's certainly the first time he has busted out xpander in non-cowpander form in ages. i really wouldn't wanna hear it from howells or warren to be honest, that would be sort of blah for me. it's sasha's signature late 90s era classic, and it's awesome to hear sasha drop it in 2006.

Someone said before that it was a new remix and i was pointing out that its been around for over 9 months....as someone also pointed out that he dropped Orbital - Halcyon + On + On last year as well. I'd rather Sasha dropped the original Xpander rather than some mashup tease ;)I've been to plenty of Sasha gigs myself too....

I'd love for him to drop something like the pariah banjo mix of Space Maneouvres or Jimpy - Talking (Tarentella and Redanka Mix) from gu 13 or better yet Morgan King - I'm Free (William Orbit Mix) or Libra - Calling Your Name (Albion Mix) from his san francisco gu :)

maybe that someone was me, since it was the first time i heard it. i thought he used ableton to take the main synth of xpander and drop it on a new bassline actually.. i'd agree with rather hearing the original, perhaps on a harder kickdrum.
