Too bad it's always like this when we play in big tournaments :(
Another problem: this was the only European team in our group and we lost to it ...

| too bad Robben still doesn't know football is a collective sport. I read an article in the press this morning where Van Persie criticizes him about it. |

It's fairly clear that his individuality on the pitch works for him, so i suppose it makes sense for him to go with it.
I've grown to despise Robben of late.. he goes to ground far too easily (something i loathe about football), and makes this beautiful game so hard to sell in country's like Australia. |

| I think Holland just about deserved it. S&M put on a good showing though, and would've been better than say england on performance, this group is the toughest there is :) |

| Also Van Basten himself criticized the team about it, that they used the left flank (with Robben) too much. But judging from the game I guess S&M thought the primery danger came from Van Nistelrooy because it seemed they especially garded him in the center and left Robben too much of space. |

Serbia & Montenegro lost mainly because Nenad Djordjevic never ever was into the game. He was running nowhere and didn't mark Robben at all.
Compare that to the fact that all teams are marking every single player in the tournament, not letting anyone cruise by you like Robben did with Djordjevic in the first 37 minutes. It all got better when Koroman came on, for me, It was quite obvious that he should've started yesterday. But I guess Petko knew his misstake and certainly coached well besides substituting Milosevic instead of Kezman in the beginning of the second half.
Krstajic and Gavrancic took care of van Nistelrooy and didn't allow anything. Everyone besides Kezman, Djordjevic and Stankovic and maybe Duljaj for not marking Robben enough, played well yesterday.
I still think we could've got a better result of that, and no one has really seen the right Serbia & Montenegro team so far in the tournament. Now you people see why Vidic is so important for us.. |

I know, they played against Belgium in the preliminaries ;)
But in those preliminaries they especially showed they have a really good defense. Don't really know about their forwards after yesterday, I thought Kezman would show us a better performance. Maybe a lack off confidence after his mediocre season? |

I would certainly say that this season has been a hard one for Mateja Kezman. He's had a very tough time in Atlético de Madrid during this season.
Lack of confidence? Definetly. He looked nervous, played nervous and walke off very sad and dissapointed.
Milosevic had a good game though, and I want to see him start if Ljuboja doesn't get the chance upfront with Zigic. Zigic is essential becuase he 's probably the only one who can manage to win those long balls against Ayala in the next game.
Biggest dissapointment was Dejan Stankovic, He can really do much much much better, and I'm sure many of you knows that.
I think we haven't got anything to lose now, we've got our best defender back in the middefence together with Krstajic and Goran Gavrancic can go out and play on his regular position.
About the player underachieving:
It was to hot, and I read Robben said he was tired after 60 minutes. It's very tough. |
