has nothing to do with the software you need a decent mic with a pre amp either that or record using dat and import.

ah, now we're getting somewhere. ill look into that but in either case, I need something that can record for over a minute.

I don't know what you're trying to do but I needed to do voice overs for an ad i was producing. I discovered plugging a mic into a sound card doesn't give you enough volume. increases the levels introduces a loud hum.

yep that what the mic preamp is for. you can get a one for like $80
