not as good as they could have but they had a well oiled game in the first half. the second half was all about croatia though. |

in order to win anything they should let Ronaldo warm up the bench with his fat ass for the other players AND let Robinho take Ronaldo's place on the field ... ;) |
+1! He's had his time. Time to move on to newer, younger, more talented players!
Good match. Croatia performed better than I had expected. |

he's not even 30 yet....and he scored two goals in matchs right before the world cup. Let's not jump to conclusions just yet. |

Wow. I'll be the first to say it. game by Brazil. . Their team game sucked. The only reason they won it is because of great individual talents / efforts like Kaka's. They seriously need to work on their team passing.
Game notes:
1-) Everyone here mentioned it, but Ronaldo wasn't himself. There's gotta be something wrong with him. Maybe he hasn't fully recovered from the flu/blisters etc, but his performance was terrible.
2-) Ronaldinho didn't play up to expectations. To be quite honest, a lot of his passes were off target. He didn't dominate the mid-field like he should have.
3-) Adriano was terrible. I was actually watching him the whole game, and not once did he win the individual battles. Not once. And when he had the ball, he was most likely to lose it. A bunch of my friends and I strated actually betting on how many more times Adriano would lose the ball. Not to mention the fact that he completely botched that gimme goal at the end. Terrible touch on that one.
4-) Kaka was absolutely brilliant. Great goal, created a lot of chances, controlled midfield the way Ronaldinho was supposed to. Good passing, great hustle, always won the ball or a foul.
5-) Emerson played a very stong defensive game in midfield. Won most of the balls headed in his direction. Great showing by him.
6-) Lucio and Juan were great in the back. Considering the fact that most of the time, Cafu and Roberto Carlos were late coming back from their forays up front, which is what was creating the Croatian chances, I though they did a pretty good job defending the net.
7-) Dida was great when he had to be, although the Croatians kept on shooting straight at him. A little more luck and/or skill, and it's not unthinkable that they could have scored a couple.
8-) Robinho was pretty good in his 20 minutes of action. Created a golden opportunity for Adriano, who botched it, although he might have been trying to shoot. Never saw a replay on that one.
Overall, great game by Croatia. Terrible game for Brazil. Individual talent will only take you so far in the World Cup. They need a better team display next time. |

How is Niko Kovac?
It would be really bad if he was injured and couldn't play for Croatia during this tournament. It also looked quite bad for him when he had to leave the field after two collisions, first with Adriano which shouldn't have been so dangerous, but the second collision was really obvious and the brazilian player should've been booked after pretty rough play on the croate.
He also took himself on the heart after being brought down the second time, and held his heart and ribs all the way down from the stadium.
He was really good yesterday, and showed what he can, I've always been critic to his way of playing. But yesterday was a great day for Croatian football and for Niko Kovac.
Bad news from Bosnia after the game: http://sports.yahoo.com/sow/news;_y...uters&type=lgns
It's all very sad and shouldn't happen. |

Brasil has always play in the first matches of every WC, you remember 2002? but in general I must agree with Epicurus post.
omg I thought these things doesn't happen anymore, it's very sad. soccer games are ment to unite ppl and have fun, and not to make them fight between each other:conf: |
