1:1 final score. Credit has to be given to the US for showing marked improvement and playing with only 9 men against 10. Very good match especially compared to their previous one.
I was surprised to see the Americans on about the same level as the Italians -- Italy had a lot of holes. |

| That game was fun, I had a smile on my face the whole of the second half. Italy played badly and the Americans played with a lot of spirit even when down to 9 men. At the end of the day the US still has a chance of going through so this is a great result for them. The italian papers are going to have a field day. |
