I wouldn't say trance is evolving into house. House has been around forever. I would say, more accurately, various forms of sub genres are being tapped for their individually strong elements, and being integrated into more ingenius and unique styles of new music.
However, its all just a progression of the ancient shaman, beating on his drum, dancing around the archaic fire. |

people just don't understand what trance is. I mean, most people i talk to have never even heard of "trance music" before. Then I try to explain to them what it is, and they take it the wrong way, thinking it's that cheese-ass euro nonsense they hear on z103.5, like Cascada - Everytime We Touch...dear god:nervous: ...but yeah. I'd certainly want trance to have a rejuvenation(sp?). Trance should make you feel like..like...your doing something important and very epic when you hear it (or soemthing like that), but most of it these days doesn't.

| that’s ok doza your opinion makes sense thanks for coming out and yes trance needs new blood but every ones in the hip-hop and think trance is gay but i guess when something really means something to you and you really like it, the outside or negative comments or people trying to convince you to be a certain way etc. say’s nothing compared to what you want your self to be, but the only thing that truly matters is how you act when the change of psychological occurrence is happens or maybe I popped too many blue pills yo |

| I dont' think trance is dying at all. Maybe you dont' see 50,000 people raves or anything like that anymore, but just because it isn't completely mainstream doesn't mean its dead. All streams of music continue in some form or another. Its like a continuous stream. Maybe its right out in the open with many ppl into it, maybe it goes more underground, but its always there. Quite often when a form of music disappears from the fore it sort of goes a bit more underground... and its during those times when the sound refreshes and is renewed while something else takes its position in the fore like house or whatever else. Eventually it'll come springing back again, in a new incarnation. I've been listening to electronic music since like the 80's... and it never goes away... and always comes back stronger... if you enjoy it, who cares what others listen to, just keep enjoying it... sooner or later it will come back... but who cares. If you enjoy it, it doesn't matter if its popular or not. It just matters if you enjoy the music. |

| I think trance is def. changing. The "uber DJs" have had thier time in the lime light, and the new set of "uber DJs" is coming up. Trance is def. not dead. Just tonight I saw Brittany Murphy as the featured guest on David Lettermen. Either way, as long as I can find myself good new tunes online, I will listen to trance music. |

| Well, I got Ferry Corsten's opinion on trance last night, and we were talking about how it was changing. He said for him personally, he likes to be diverse in the styles of music he plays. He first started out with ambient stuff and then moved all over the map. He said that trance was actually the style of music he really enjoyed and thus stayed with it for 5 or 6 years, but now he's moving move into electro, house...different styles. He likes to experiment. He said that trance is not dead though. |
