There is some awesome article where Sasha slags Ferry Corsten for ruining trance in the first place. What trance was in the beginnning anyways (re: Parks & Wilson, or maybe old Sasha sets like his triple J mixup sets) Corsten's over the top take on trance created an almost "anti-trance" movement, Bedrock and prog were born.
So essentially trance was dead then, and he killed it. So his take on it is somewhat futile for me.
Not to be a total , but trance is dead. |

And Jon...I was too young to really get into the old trance that you speak of. I know some of it, but am not that educated. To me trance is the uplifting, uber, hands in the air trance that Ferry used to play. Tracks he made with some of the top trance DJs of that time (i.e. Ferry and Armin)...especially all of System F's tracks.
That's just my opinion though...you and I grew up in different trance states. The trance I know doesn't really exist so much anymore...or at least is dwindling. But like I said before, trance (like all music) changes. |

Personally I agree with you tho, the dutch momentum does for me mean trance. And again, that is far gone. lol When I heard Ilya tell me last summer that his favorite dj was Sander Kleinenberg, I knew then and there, it was all over for trance. haha |

There is still a trance following and each city has one...
We're moving away from Aria and to our own events now. We are starting with Jon Obir and have some new projects coming soon.
I went through this post and some of it is all over the place, but everyone is mixed on the answer! I think the simple answer is no, so there...mystery solved...go back to dancing with your glowsticks!
