Boring? Nahh, it was a pretty good match. Well played by both teams, but neither deserved more than a tie.

And the referee certainly seemed to be on Argentina's favour sometimes. Some really weird calls.. but who cares.

Looked to me as if they both just went through the motions. Only 5 shots on goal from both sides the entire game? Ah well. So Argentina vs Mexico and Holland vs Portugal with the winners taking on Germany/Sweden and England/Ecuador?

Where can I find one of those complete knockout stage brackets? The fifa site is useless, unless i'm blind.

Well, luckily the rest of the matches should be interesting - as the teams will be fighting to stay alive!

For a game that doesnt really matter it was a pretty decent one if you ask me :)

I wouldnt be surprised if these 2 teams ended up in the final. They have been very impressive. If i was a portguese fan i would be very worried, same for mexico.

i'm worried but not only because of holland. this is the way we have to take in theory to win the whole thing:

beat holland -> beat england -> beat brazil -> beat argentina

easy heh? :nervous:

I honestly do not know what to expect of Portugal on Sunday. You've proven to be quite the hurdle for us in the past.

Great game by the B team of Holland, even de Cler was dangerous on the side. Add the fact that whe at least should have got one penalty and that Argentina didn't had that big chances and i see a very good result for our squad.

And what about the 'worldtalent' Messi, he didn't had one good action, didnt got pass Boularouz once, he's just so overrated :o

Now whe have to go further, Portugal aint that difficult, the squad is warm now after this difficult group and wants more, even England won't be that difficult. Man for the first time this tournament i give our squad a decent chance for the finale :D

Oh and btw, goodbeye Germany, they dont stand a chance against Argentina :whip:

I don't know what to expect of that game neither. Recent history between the two teams is very favourable for us indeed (1995 friendly win at Holland, 2002 qualifying win at Holland and a memorable 2-2 at home, euro 2004 semi-final), but as in the last few days everyone said Holland would be better than Argentina for us, there is a bit of overblown euphoria. People are talking like Holland would be almost an easy team to beat, which is complete bull.

I mean, let's take a look at the dutch in big tournaments since 1988:

euro 88: champions
wc 90: 1/8 finals
euro 92: finalists
wc 94: 1/4 finals
euro 96: 1/4 finals
wc 98: 1/2 finals
euro 00: 1/2 finals
wc 02: didnt qualify for the tournament
euro 04: 1/2 finals

That s all over our entire historial and proves Holland are a top team.

Back to the game in particular: we haven't been playing truly great, but i feel we're yet to peak in this cup and do have the potential to go further. So I say 50/50, both teams with equal chance to win.
