And now?

50 hooligans who make trouble face 5 million peaceful people on the streets that celebrate a huge world cup party. I think there are more important things to talk about, because there is no real problem with this stupid people.

Hooligans aren't soccer fans. They don't care about the world cup. And they are no real threat to the peaceful world cup visitors, because a group of Hooligans usually wants to fight another group of hooligans. They don't attack the "normal" soccer fan.

Neither english nor german fans are violent or identify with these stupid groups. They only want to watch soccer, drink some beer, cheer for their team and have a good time.

well sometimes voilence comes out during intense matches or events like this. Germany and England have a history of not really being best of buds when it comes to fussball ;) .... and i was just bringing it up because at the time i saw it on the news seemed pretty serious. And i wasnt bashing Germans or English ...would be stupid to bash germans when im german as well. Just glad England and Germany didnt face because i think it would of gotten ugly lol. just my opinion

well, no1 expected the team to make it to the quarters so i hope you wont be to disappointed once it ends there:toothless

once the draw was made and they were confirmed to be in a completely group, i think it was pretty much expected they'd make it to the quarters.

Germany had a pretty easy group this time, but now their way to the final is very very difficult!

Sweden (could have been England), Argentina and Italy in the semi-finals are a very difficult journey for us.

Italy for example has a much easier way. They face Australia and than the winner of Ukraine/Swiss.

Italy is the only team who has it easy this knockout stage. Look at the opponents we have to face, or who Spain/France have to face.

I was just stating that it was fairly expected for Germany to beat that group, then beat the 2nd placed of Group B. From the quarters onwards it's all very hard, and impossible to predict accurately before the start of the cup.

England and Brazil have easy opponents in the first ko-round too. Ecuador and Ghana should be easy to defeat for them!

I feel a little bit sad about Spain. They played such a great group round and now they have to face the last 2 world cup champions. It's funny that second place Ukraine has an easier opponent with Switzerland.

The jackpot goes to Italy, for facing Australia and than Ukraine or Switzerland. They try to copy our style from 2002.

Here in Germany no one was sure if our team reaches the next round until the world cup started.

Unfortunately we didn't have to play qualification games for this world cup so we didn't know how good our team really is.

And a lot of people including Kaiser Franz Beckenbauer critizised Jürgen Klinsmann for nominating so many young players and playing so offensive.

Before the world cup started many people said that it would be a success to reach the first knock out round. After the 1-4 against Italy many people lost their faith into the team.

So many germans hoped we would reach the 1/4 finals but not all expected it.

Now it will be very tough against Argentina. I think we'll see an exciting game.

If we defeat Argentina, it would be our first win against one of the "big" soccer nations since 2000.

before the game:

oooh watch out for sweden, they gave a hard time to england, they are under evaluated, germany would stumble...

after the game:

sweden is , germany has it too easy, sweden has been bought, sweden is over evaluated,... etc

you guys are pathetic, get a life.

You'll find this meaning in so many forums. If Germany wins and controls the match the opponent was and no real opponent and the team should have scored much more goals.

Or they come with these funny conspiracy theories about Franz Beckenbauer and Pele being the masters of the FIFA and trying everything to put Germany and Brazil into the final.

It must be hard for some people to accept that the german team can play good football and deserving a win.

Germany was great, no doubt about it. Altho Sweden unexpectedly underperformed a lot - were a big disappointment for me.
Silentbreed
when do you guys finally get it, germany has a good team and has played very well against sweden and the games before too.
i think we dont have to be afraid of any team. the players are highly motivated and got enoug self-assurance now.

i think the english team where very happy that they didn´t faced germany , because then they where on their way home now :happy2:

btw: klose and podolski´s ancestors were german!!
klose btw. is a german name.

berlin, berlin wir fahren nach berlin!!!
