No money in the business. :(
I'll become a doctor and continue purchasing and playing games, though. :gsmile:
In other news, odd that they should consult a "PlayStationologist" considering the game is also available on the XBOX console (and looks like it'll have more of a future on the 360, than the PS3).

LOL John Stewart is fricken great.
However, I must admit that games are a little excessive when it comes to violence. I don't think little kids should be playing that .
Excuse me, I'm off to go play my GTA :D

Unfortunately, photorealism seems to be the reason why the feds have been targeting the industry over the past few years.
To expand upon what I mean... Let's not forget that even a game like Super Mario Brothers includes violence. You're basically asked to kill or be killed, even if they are just made up creatures. A whole generation of gamers has grown up on those old violent games (Comparing Mario to GTA is not such a good idea, so pretend I'm making reference to Ninja Gaiden, Strider, Double Dragon, Final Fight, etc...) and yet we never had the sort of problems that plague today's younger (-18) generation of gamers.
Also, restricting the sale of games is the equivalent of banning kids from buying books. I believe that video games are covered (or should be) under that first amendment of ours.
Then again, I think there should be laws that enforce the sale of such games to minors.
The big problem here is the parents! Many of them will simply go out and purchase a game without questioning its content or whatnot. It's the game developers and software companies that are being targeted to take the blow, though. Pfft. Not fair.
Moongoose
I loved the tommy vercetti with the canon at the end there :D

Not sure if we're talking about the same industry here. :wtf:
What position other than head of hardware developing companies (the giants, specifically) gets an extremely comfortable salary?

I've been playing violent video games for i don't know how long and i've never had the urge to go out and copy what i saw in the games.
I belive that if the US congress would have a study and well study the people who have been convicted of crimes blamed on video games ,i do think that these criminal would be found INSANE!. Playing a video game and going out to steal a car, murder alot of cops is not because of video games or movies, it's because they are INSANE! And no offence to you americans, but alot of you guys are NUTS(but also alot of you are quite normal).
Parents suing game developers and distributers because of the games their kids are playing is just stupid, who tha hell bought the game for their kids ?
And i conclude my litle rant with this quote. :D
“Computer games don’t affect kids; I mean if Pac-Man affected us as kids, we’d all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music.”

There have been many, MANY studies performed (most of which you probably haven't heard of) and yet all the results tally up to a 50/50 situation. Most of the studies have so many flaws in them, though, that you can't take them seriously. There are too many factors to consider.

Sometimes it's not the parents, you know? The problem here is, a game can easily be lent to a friend, rented from a rental-distributer or even purchased from a store. State governments are starting to instate laws against the sale of certain games for minors. I remember when anyone could basically go and purchase a title as long as they had the money. The laws are slowly being overturned, though. Unconstitutional and rightfully so.

A common mistake, this quote never came from anyone in the game industry. Someone made it up and it spread like wildfire over the internet. Somewhere along the way, it picked up an 'official' so as to have more emphasis.
I can safely tell you that this statement was never made, though.
