with all due respect and as a fan of both teams, Mexico deserves a majority of the credit for putting Argentina on its heels. If you did not see this and instead chose to say Argentina had an off-day, then I suggest to watch the game again. Mexico turned it up a notch by having borgetti back in the lineup and even started morales who has been successful against argentina. :

congrats to..... nah it

great game though, couple of moments that just like c + c music factory, made me go hmmm
right be4 the half a mexican player broke free and was going to be one on one with the goalie and got tackled and the ref gave the Argentinan only a yellow. I mean if FIFA was so strict about these kinda tackles and implemented it on someone like Masteroeni in the USA vs Italy game on a play that wasnt going anywhere, then it shoudve happened to the Argentinan , no?
The offside call at the end of game was retarded. How can a line judge be enough to raise the flag on a play closer to being onside then off.
Crespo the sorry cherry picking excuse for a starting forward in Argentina played like .Celebrating as he had scored on an obvious own gioal by Borghetti instead, yea whatever...
Mexico looked very tired in the extra time while Argentina only has Messi and Tevez and such come out the bench......
Mascherano played very well

2 teams I dont like but Mexico was the lesser of two evils, game prob shoudve been 2-2 , but Maxi's goal shuts me up in the end.

i was at work, and was watching bits and pieces at work. luckly i was able to see that insane goal by maxi. that was nuts. normally i would have been jumping and screaming, but i wasn't. i just smiled. i'm happy argentina won. but at the same time i never wanted this match to happen. this wasn't a part of my master plan. i really wish mexico played like this against angola and portugal. i was rooting for mexico to come out on top so they can advance to kill the orange machine. now what i saw today was brown on brown violence. now we have the latin american teams battling each other, when ideally (for me) they should be killing the europeans.

happy to see argentina advance, but very sad to mexico go. they played great today.

another huge negative for me about mexico loosing this game is the prospects (it will happen, it's not a probability) of that piece of hugo sanchez talking his again... i think the best thing that hugo can do for mexican futbol is euthanizing himself.

hahaha @ hugo getting owned by lechuga (sports commentator/interviewer) when hugo proclaimed that he was better than maradona, and that there atleast 10 people in mexico that were better than maradona. lechuga replied that argentina only needs one maradona to win a worldcup, how many does mexico need?

hahaha @ hugo getting owned by marioni, and then getting fired by pumas for being a loser. this guy doens't have what it takes to lift mexico's futbol to the next level. lavolpe does, and he showed it today.

I think we can all agree that this game really turned the he at up, it was full of action, and honestly until maxi's goal, either side could've won it. Proper good world cup action :D

6-) Only positives were Messi and Tevez, in particular Messi, who played an excellent game. He clearly makes a difference for them and gives them that extra step.

Not rly. Messi entered the game very badly, and took quite some time to start showing his skills.

And when he did, he was dominant. That extra period alone was an incredible display of his skills.

Hello people. Wrist still intact.

As for the game, Eddie hit the spot. Heinze, or whoever it was, should have been awarded a red card. That was clear favouritism just because Maradona was watching. You hate to see that happening. A red card would have changed the course of that game.

But who cares about that now. Aside from the bad calls it was a nice game. Intense. Oswaldo Sanchez was beat with a great goal. It was the only way to take his team out.

Iīm still mad at the coach for the bad decisions he made before and during the WC. Anyway, good performance by Mexico. At least we didnīt pull a Morocco. :p
