I cannot believe that another team that did not deserve to win has gone on to the finals.
That penalty was a fuking joke. Any Australians reading this should be proud that our boys stuck it to the Italians We should have won that game! |

No, it was quite legitimate. Lucas Neil was an idiot to dive in front of a player making a run inside the box. Anyone would seize that opportunity and trip over the playeer after which a penalty was justified.
And if you think the penalty was wrong, so was the red card given to materazzi which should have been a yellow at best since he wasnt the last man.
Italy's primary form of play is the counter attack. A lot of teams can dominate them in terms of possesion and what not but breaching their defence which is the best in the world and scoring is a whole different story which australia found out today. And nesta wasnt even there.

i was at federation square in melbourne where they had a giant screen set up. after the penalty there was dead silence.

He went in with 2 feet off the ground, which is a tackle fifa want outlawed, so the ref was right to send that scumbag off. He shouldn't even be playing at all after what he did to Sorin's nose in the Champs League 1/4 final. ****. |

i didnt watch the game, but go see the highlights, from what i can tell italy played a much better game. and as someone said before that red card was bull, even if it was a 2 feet tackle, he barely made contact, but its always up to the ref and it can go both ways. the penalty im not quite sure what to make of it, it could gone both ways too. also stop the italy bashing, they're good even if you dont like it, and even if they went to extra time aussie land had no chance, the teams are on different levels of play :wtf: |

That Materazzi is a dirty bastard, good to see him sent off...but for some reason Hiddink didn't go for it, would have been nice to see them try and get a goal against Italy.
I couldn't stand it if Italy won, I really hate those bastards and their negative style. Please either Ukraine or Switzerland knock them out! |
