yea flips chicks are and always will be at the top of my list..
wish i can go back to highschool, literally all my hs friends were flip, and just recently i've started seeing them randomly all over the place. i guess im so flip, i even have a barong =T lol don't ask how...i really don't know |
what is bull? i dont get it.
i dont knwo what a barong is but ive been to a bario where they roast a pig and eat MAD food.
then i dated a flip girl and her brothers were all over me watching my every move. the one bro turned out to be gay and was always wanting to hang out with me.
you dont find ANY openly gay people in korea. nor do you find transvestites. |

That's quite an overgeneralized blanket statement you're making. Believe it or not there are gay people anywhere in the world and underground gay parties hosted in Seoul. As for tranvestites/ transexuals, Ha Ri-su is quite the celebrity all over Asia.
And it's gyopo, not gyokpo. ;) |

Awww bubble tea!!! I used to get that is toronto a lot :)
PS: My bf would love you...he loves Filipino (sp?) women and you are beautiful as well! I better keep him away!! LOL (ha! He wouldn't come to an EDM event is I PAID him, tho!) |

you are correct. its gyopo. my korean sucks. i knwo. haha.
i dont think its an overgeneralized blanket statement only because i said openly. not just being gay in korea. being openly gay is not something you find in seoul. being gay on the other hand is different because of course there are gay people all over and anywhere in the world. being openly gay is a different realm in itself. especially in a country where male egos fly.
transexuals like her (or he but technically her) might be popular but that doesnt mean the culture is open to it. although sex is rampid in korea it isnt as "open" as it is in the states or korea. people still turn a blind eye to it. youll find it in places where youll find it. id say in comparison to 8 years ago korea has changed drastically. although softcore porn is right on tv at night! |

that is correct. i don't think illmaticnyc made an overgeneralized blanket statement either.
in korea, the society at large appears to be less tolerant of gay lifestyles. as opposed to the philippines, where you'd find more openly gay people. some wonder if it's because of it being a predominantly catholic country.
the first girl that ever hit on me was philippino. haha. back in the twilo days around 2001? hahahhaha |

my mom gets hit on when she goes to korea.
she gets hit on by cab drivers, and most men around her age.
married men and women also cheat a LOT.
when i was in korea two yrs ago, everyone was not too friendly, knowing i was a foreigner. also, most of them did not like americans. when i spoke korean (i'm pretty fluent), they all thought i was from china .. ahaha. apparently, my korean sounds chinese!
but! fun place to visit.
random memory - took asiana airlines there, and i liked how they played some edm music on one of their radio channels .. "beautiful things" was on repeat ahaha |

hehe yup, Filipino or Filipina. Pinoy or Pinay. Lots of different ways to say it!
Bubble tea is awesome, but so expensive from the good places here! I've thought about getting a Do It Yourself kit, but haven't been adventurous enough yet.

You'd think that b/c it's predominantly Catholic there'd be LESS tolerance of gays. Or are you comparing them with hardcore evangelical Christians? I actually think the openess to gays in the PI is cultural. Lots of guys are mama's boys. Filipinos in general love shopping, dancing, and are very consciencious of their grooming (qualities that are sometimes stereotyped more with gays and metros.) Could just be the ones I know though... haha |

its not that its a catholic country in my opinion. i think it has to do with confucism type believes. that is why right now we see such a cultural surge in asia with confucious and western idealologies clashing. |

Interesting turn this thread has taken... haha Anyway, I think I understand what you mean. Confucism emphasizes heterosexuality and that clashes with homosexuality which is viewed as more western? It's true the PI embraces more western ideologies than most Asian countries.
