Brazil is by far the best team in the world, they've won all the games literally walking, not much effort to obtain victory.

did anyone notice how they were getting booouuuwwdd during the final minutes agains GHANA???? they were just keeping the ball on the control, once they heard they were getting yield at, they scored a goal easily ...... brazil respects because they know they're a lot better, but fans wanted action so they got it ...

true, that's what it seems like, but personally, i just don't like it when there are big powerhouses in sports like that, which is why i'm not going to root for brazil if/when they get to the finals. it makes everything a little bland. why have one amazing team that keeps winning when you can have so many different ones at about the same level. it provides for a much more tense and gratifying victory in the end.

I hate when ppl compare Brazil to Lakers or Yankees or money having teams.

Brazil does not buy players (unlike some countries *cough*USA..etc). The brazilian players are just great at what they do, raised to become the best and they play for the pride of their country. If there is some disadvantage is b/c they are soccer gods. If they wanted to they could have scored 5 or 6 goals on Ghana but they didn't. So to me they are very humble and will show the caliber team they are in the following games...

i don't think anybody compared them to lakers...

i was just saying, if they're so good, why would they hold back? i want to see all teams perform to their full ability, all the time. furthermore, i want to see more than just a blowout. when a match goes to overtime, and there's a goal in the last couple of minutes or something, THAT'S exciting.
which leads me just to say that, even though i respect brazil for their skill, if it is true that they "held back," i'd be angry, because i just think that's a jackass move. it's arrogant, and it wastes my time. who wants to watch a 50% team?!?

also, this is world cup...ALL the teams play for the pride of the country...not just all godly brazil

brazil makes the rules on soccer ... and they do what's best for the sport.

i am sure they would've try to beat france, spain, argentina, germany or any MAJOR team very bad, but not to an african team ....... that's just how it is (how they do it)

i am 100% positive they will show THE REAL SKILLS against France this weekend & we'll be able to see thier magic

Ive been a Brazil fan for 8 years yup I cried whn they lost to france we even bought a wide screen tv that year for the world Cup and cheered whn they won in Japan.... As far as Argentina they are great too ...So watch out for them ..I just want a South American country to win :D

I never explicitly said you compared them to anybody..I was speaking generally of others I've come across.

I completely agree with you regarding last minute goals and that adding to the excitement of the game (ie Argentina vs Mexico or Spain vs France)

Finally your point regarding them being arrogant I really doubt that. They are hyped because of the skill that they have and I have never seen them not shake hands or swap shirts with other teams regardless of their caliber. Someone mentioned the fans booing b/c Brazil had dropped their level of play in the end of the game vs Ghana..they gave the fans what they wanted and made it 3-1.

You say you don't want to watch a 50% team...but everyone does that in every sport. Once a game is blowout other teams usually bring in the bench players and it actually has been happening through out this tournament. A few of the teams that classified in the first round rested their star players in their 3rd game. :o

Quarters start Friday...man I can't wait..

See but you're making assumptions there. First off there is a salary cap in basketball. Second off the comparison b/w teams like Lakers, Yankees, Brazil is because they always win. For most sports teams are an extension of the ego, so for the majority they like to latch on to a powerhouse team in order to make themselves feel better.

But true a lot of teams play 50%. I mean have you ever watched basketball during the regular season? They're playing like 15%.

+1, but you already knew that

And yes I'm still bitter about the USA's performance.

When I made the comment I never assumed you guys would take it so defensively. Besides I never quoted someone as saying it. :D

True NBA has a salary cap and the MLB has a 'luxury tax' of which the yankees have repeatedly taken advantage of. My point was to make a differentiation between Yankess, Lakers and Brazil. The fact that they always win is an obvious similarity. My comment was made to shed some light on the previous statement.

USA's performance has been improving since their first performance in the world cup...but this year they did have a ty performance. Hopefully they will be improving in the years to come..maybe they will should naturalize some brazilians and pay them loads of cash

:haha: sorry..I just had to

Zild
Not defensive just illucidating why your argument holds no water, and why people follow teams like Brazil, Lakers, Yankees even though they have no geographic reason to.
