Pioneer DJM-400

So has anyone here bought one yet... or had a mix on one? I'm after some honest feedback or reviews.

Looking at one of these as i'm after a 2 channel mixer with high sound quality. I only need 2 channels, but the DJM-600 is now only a couple of hundred dollars more than the DJM-400 here. Is it worth spending a little extra on a proven solid mixer, or will the DJM-400 to the job? It will only be used for bedroom dj'ing and parties.

Not overly fussed about the built in effects and looping etc.

cheers.

When my local guitar shop had one in stock, i quickly went down to check it out. Looks like a very good solid mixer. The effects were easy to use, the reloop sampler took me a little while to figure out, and the sound on this sounded really good, I'm comparing this to my djm-500.

If you never plan to use more than 2 channels and want a good solid mixer with fx. I would say this is a good choice.

If you don't care for for fx and loops. Im sure everyone else here would suggest something else for the money with better sound. Such as the Xone 02 or the Vestex.

Talk to Miamitranceman, he has one. He'll probably be the next to post but I thought i'de mention him ;)

Yea man. It's part of my first dj setup with 800 mk2s and I'm loving it. It just feels solid, the sound is great, and the effects are a great bonus. The eq's have the perfect amount of resistance as well. If you don't need more than two channels, it's a tight little package that will give you the option of experimentation beyond a basic two-channel mixer.

I've decided, it's time for me to get me one of these.

Question: I've been told if i get this shipped from anywhere other than canada the warranty is no longer valid..... is this true?!

Also, whats the cheapest price going right now (link as well please)

;)

I got my unit for 469 on agiprodj.com...one of the best deals I could find from an authorized dealer.

that's where i got mine...

hmmmm - just noticed this mixer has an odd headphone/cueing set up, with no control on the balance of master/cue. i'm wondering if this is enough of a setback to consider not buying this mixer?

for those who have the 400, how did you find the transition to grasping this? i typically cue up my tracks with only a slight amount of the master volume in my headphones (i'm guessing around 20%). Will the 400 allow me to set my levels at least close to that?

p.s. - forgive me for my totally un-technical verbiage. lol

I dunno..for the price, the DJM-400 has a few shortcomings. That cue stuff, and also the fact that it doesnt have balanced outputs (only RCA) no curve controls etc....:nervous:
miamitranceman
I dunno man. Mine's been pretty quality so far. Curious what you mean by "curve controls"? Are you talking about the crossfader curve? The 400's got 3 different curve settings.
