I don't see how the Mercat can just up and close at the end of a week, especially when they had bookings made up until September.
It seemed that Ben only first heard of it when reading ITM to boot - seems kind of unprofessional? |

I don't think that Ben heard about it just by reading ITM :)
I also had bookings there, but knowning the crew at Mercat it's obviously something that's out of their hands a little bit (although i'm not sure exactly what has happened myself). Very unfortunate - the amount of great venues around Melbourne (especially in the CBD) is continuing to dimish at a pretty rapid pace, and those that are left tend not to support more underground sounds these days either :( |

it doesnt matter now, nothing that we could have done to prevent it, although a little more notice could have been good.
either way we will find a new venue and be sure to rock the bloody shop twice as hard!

Haha, I was just at Brown Alley last night for Freebase.. as I was reading down that you're looking for a new venue I'm thinking to myself "Brown Alley is pretty in' cool" and then you said it :D
Will you have tickets on you at Obsession or is that something I'll need to pre-arrange? |
