so yes, this is my 2nd post ever on TA.
but why not support your local dj's?
ive met a few people on TA such as gmoney, silvernrgy, trancinchink, etc and probably have seen some other TA's around the club that i didnt know were TA's (prolly up in the front). some were TA's also, but i dont know their username.
and so yeah.. hey guys, im roger, new to the board, and check out hai lee / hydroid / mark ian in action tonight =)
(it's hydroid's first US. appearance i believe as well) |

| I'm a tiny bit confuse. I was just at Avalon. Main room was total drum & bass. Not bad, but not my thing. Side room had some good techno but no one there knew anything about Hydroid. Not sure what you look like HLC so I dont know if I saw you. Can someone help a sister out? Am I just blind and stupid? |

UNFORTUNATELY avalon made a mistake. the drum and bass was supposed to be in the smaller room, and hai lee / hydroid / mark ian was supposed to play in the big room.
what happened was that it got mixed up, hydroid left, and yeaaaaa.
still, awesome set by hai lee and mark ian =)
remember a few songs such as marcel woods - advanced, A&B air for life, corsten fire, airbase - escape, etc.
so hai lee spun until 2am, and then mark ian took over until 4:30am.
and this was in the smaller room.
no idea where you got techno from. it was all trance and hard trance all night long. |

glad to see a review up. Mark Ian's set was on key, and there was nothing but pure energy. Ferry Corsten - Punk had me going crazy.. I was the one making "bah-dum-dum-dum.. duh-dao-nah-duh" LOL.. Hai Lee's set was amazing as well.. I wish the event had occured in the Main Floor as intended too.. but the sets from both totally made up for the loss. |

| I just want to say a big thank you to all that supported the party tonite, unfortunately we had the chapel, but we made the best of it and was one of the great night in my opinion. I hope all you people that attended had a great time, again thank you and hope to see you again on a next event. Mark Ian |

i was a bit unhappy with avalon and promoters last night as i'm sure hydroid and mark was as well.
i met him briefly and it seems he had only brought cds... and with only 1 of the cdj's working... he was forced to leave. one of the other turntables was also out of wack with no eq's available for one of the channels. i try to do my best with the flow and mixing, but unfortunately without enough vinyls, i didn't really have much of a selection either.
all in all, i had fun and was able to spin from 10:30 - 2. There were a lot of my home friends in the crowd (chinainsanity is one of them), so thats always nice. Mark spun a really hard set and i was really liking the stomping energy. It was good seeing big mike up there for a bit... and i thank him for helping me out with the cdj when it spazzed on me... lol.
anyways... to be blunt (and sorry if i offend anyone) avalon booking is shady.. and works with shady promoters. end of story. |

| damn sorry to hear, must of sucked bringing hydroid all way from israel to nyc and then having that happen... also ya def dont trust avalons management..ive gotten dicked over inthe past by them, so not surprised they did that too you, but come on, they were bringing in talent from israel, least they can do is put u in the main room, i mean wtf listens to drum n bass anymore? :haha: |
