wtf? has anyone worked here? i have finished 3 days of training and sold to 3 people and did advanced training today...

when i got home i decided to google "vector marketing scam" and i found some wesites regarding this business. i went to a petition website (SAVE) and saw all these comments about how the company gets their employees (mainly high school and college students) and was alarmed at some of the similarities i saw from their comments and the stuff that went on in training. has anyone ever heard of vector or cutco?

:wtf:

LMAO!

I worked there for about a day and told them I'd get back to them with plenty of sales. Needless to say I never came back, lol.

I remember the day my friend I signed up for this job because it payed $15/hr but after 1 day of training my friend left, but I still had hope and stayed for the 2nd day until I found out the job only pays by commission. Talk about a waste of time. My recommendation is to quit. It isn't worth it.

You guys sell knives right? *rhetorical*

is there no dignity anymore? the first thing that popped into my head was "wtf? i don't feel comfortable ripping off my fam and friends". i personally think the knives are good and we have a set here but i checked cutco reviews and the reviews seemed very positive so then i realized the main problem was vector. the office i worked in put a lot of pressure on us to make a minimum of 6 appointments from friday to sunday. SUCH short notice.they had us buy the knives to demonstrate (141.75) but we have the option of keeping it, selling it our etting our money back. i knew something wasn't right because my enthusiasm about the job declined throughout the 3 days of training and i dreaded going in today. not to mention i found out training is unpaid. so thursday, friday and staurday i spent 15 hours unpaid to hear all hype.

you did the right thing not coming back. today when i came for advanced training i saw less than HALF of the people who i was in a group with since day 1. i was going to quit on sunday but my mom told me not to give up and for a second, i was glad i didn't give up but now that i read this scam stuff, i need to quit.

thank god i have an interview at the airport tomorrow...hopefully i get hired.

its actually a psych technique they are using, caleld cognitive dissonance to get you to actually stay with them. I went to a vacuum cleaner hiring thing that was the same way. They setup a long startup process, of interview, training, informational sessions, all before you get paid or get to work.

Their hope is that you think to yourself, Ive put in all this time and effort (and sometimes money), I wouldn't do that for a ty company, ill stick it out. and people do.

They pull in people that are very good at talking with people and making them feel special. its quite the scam IMO. That vacuum cleaner thing was hilarious, they didn't even mention wtf the job was til late day 2. They also had manager 'trainees' sit in so you get the impression that they are moving people up quickly.

I chuckle about it now cause I have a job, but back then I was all like, damn, I wasted this much time on this.

haha
i did the same but for a week !
selling disney food merchandise.
the only reason i stayed that long is because there were some pretty hot ( & gullible) chicks on my team. But they totally weirded me out after getting to know them awhile. They're like the vector marketing version of bible thumpers, all they talk about is how to get more people etc etc. Come to think of it...i think they're bait to trap you into their whole sceme.

Smile, bat the eyelids, show a lil cleavage, a lil nipple slip and 'ok so i'll see you at work tommorrow',.

devils.

yeah i've heard of cognitive dissonance. but damn this is crazy...

and i was reading on the 'net, some girl who said she worked answering phones for vector and when people asked what the job is about, she wasn't supposed to tell them. the training manager does a brilliant job in making it seem like it is a really good job. only problem was that he layed the pressure on. he kept saying be enthusiastic about the job, and whatnot. i plan to not be working for them for nomore than this week.

lol at the bible thumpers.

now i don't know if i should keep the knfe set or get my mony back cuz i like the knives, lol. :wtf:

lol. I just had an interview with them today. The knives were actually pretty cool and they are made in he US, so they are good quality. I told them I would do, but I ain't going back. And they don't all pay by commision, because they said that they would pay the higher either a basic $17.25 an hour or certain commision.

+1

Any place that makes you pay them so you can work there is generally not a completely legit business. Well...they might technically be legit legally, but they aren't "honest," as the saying goes.

It's like the scam scholarship things, where you have to pay them a fee for [insert bull here] before you can get the scholarship.

Hahaha I hate vector marketing.... Went through the 3 day training and never came back.
