Yes!
I used it in a demo I did about a year ago, not as the first tune but a few tracks in - when the beat drops in it's just got such a good groovy feel to it :) |

| I never really use an "intro" tune, though often I'll play a few Ambient or Chillout/Downtempo tunes at the beginning of a set. |

For Goa:
Filteria - Operation Pulse |
|
|
| AndreiD |
Vibrasphere - Floating Free
Albert Vorne - Formentera (Gareth Emery Remix)
And others I really can't think of right now.
Once I used Re:Locate vs Jonas Steur - Nasty as an intro for a banging set, it worked perfectly :D Gave the people what they wanted, BANG BANG BANG! :D |

Vibrasphere - Yaku (outtro)
Using that as an intro to an ambient techno type mix atm. Works well. |

I sometimes use a recording I got of the his holiness the 14th Dali Lama of Tibet when I was near the Tibetan border in India. Works nicely over incoming beats and I also flick reverse back and fourth so the chant becomes more rythmically matched.
I also use the intro from Planet Rock - Afrka Bambaataa.
I stick a loop on the yeaaaaaah phrase and let the beats kick in, and filter it like crazy with delay etc. This works nicely, but really only good for the first time you play at a club, gets boring if you do it too often.
Cheers

This sounds crazy! Any chance you could put up a sample or something? I'd love to hear this.
I've always wanted to use Doves - Where We're Calling From as some sort of opener, but I have no idea what to follow it up with. |
