| Id also say Reykjavik. Beautiful city. That goes for all of Island btw.. I was there about five years ago and I didnt go clubbing, but from what I hear, Icelandic people party like no other. :) |

Not only did we destroy their culture, as a culture, we seem to refuse to dignify their existance. Think about it... if someone comes from German, you say he's a German, if he's from France, he's French. However if someone is Sioux, or Cherokee, they are merely referred to as being Indian.
Here's a quick history lesson for everyone. Columbus didn't think he landed in India. India wasn't even called India back when he sailed looking for a shorter way to get to the riches of the Far East. He referred to Indians as Indians because he was not sailing for his own country and wrongly translated his words to "una gente in Dios." His meaning for this was "A people of God."
In Dios.... Indian
So why is it that Americans are taught to refer to them as "Native American" when they are no more native to North America than us. Regardless of what someone will tell you, it is not Politically Correct to do so. In fact, the only PC way to describe them is to use the name of their specific group. (ie. Blackfoot, Iroquois)
Sorry to rant and rave about this, but it is something that I feel very strongly on. |

No really, it's nice and quiet out here, but not much to do, clubbing-wise....I'd say for Holland, try to visit Rotterdam and the "Veluwe" (see if you can rent a bike and cycle thru the woods) and up north (near me) make sure you visit one of the "Wadden-Islands", of which Vlieland is the most beautiful and fun to hang out on. :)
My preference holiday-wise goes definitely to Germany!!! I just love every small village or big city in that country! Especially in the summer, when the farmers are out on their lands and you can smell fresh hay in the air and stuff...MMMMMMM :)
I've ben to Antwerp (Belgium) once, and I really really liked that town, there's this big square in the centre with lil pubs and bars all around it, and all the streets are really beautiful and the people are friendly etc etc...

I love the German coutryside also. It is tied with Switzerland and Italy as far as best countryside for me. The little towns in Germany are my favorite though...i will be stopping by St. Goar and Rothenburg for sure.
And I have to go to Antwerp. It is the home of my favorite beer of all time...DE KONICK. I must go to that brewery! |

Berlin is my favorite city in Europe...
going for a walk at midnight, seeing Siegessaeule in lights...
visiting the Berlin Zoo [Tiergarten]. It's very hard to describe but I wish I lived in Berlin my whole life :) |

Coming from Denmark I can thouroughly recommend not wasting precious time and money on visiting here, unless you desperately need a break away from the excitement of the rest of the world.
Instead I'll recommend Berlin (especially for the Loveparade) and the coastal towns in Bulgaria. Bulgarians are *very* friendly people and everything is pretty cheap there while you still have all the beach, sun and atmosphere of southern Spain and Italy. |

you forget, trancaholic, that sometimes it is the "lack of excitement" which is what we americans are looking for. After all we live in the most diverse and "exciting" country in the world... (not to play the conceited USA role, but) i found Denmark extremely beautiful, and tucked away in the center of everything. Its a day's drive to go to any country in any direction, and the people there are all super nice and really beautiful. So what if the club/nightlife scene sucks? Thats what most of the beauty is. :)
Be patriotic! IMO you're from one of the best countries of the world! We can thank you guys for Bang & Olufsen and Martin, for starters! ;)

I appreciate all what you're saying, and maybe you're right.
I've tried to elucidate my comments a couple of times, but each attempt has so far ended up in incoherent stuff I wouldn't expect anybody to understand, perhaps underlining the difficulties in transforming emotions to data (the text you're interpreting right now). Anyway, the point is somewhere along the lines of small country, fear of deviation/change and the "Jante"-law (which is a social comment which characterizes danish mentality).
Ahh, can't think. Maybe I'll post something understandable later on... |

| dude, you gotta admit copenhagen is a nice place to chill after a drugged out party weekending in Amsterdam. Its also like the gateway to Scandanavia. The standard of living is indcredibly high, everyone speaks English, and there is almost no crime. I hear the people are really quiet though...hehe. what are the chicks like over there? |
