Yes, 7 isnt for PC users

I use Logic 7 Pro as well...and it rocks.
Awesome package - Cubase can go home to mommy.

Logic is used by most producers out there.
And yes, the last PC-Version was 5.5.2, then Apple bought Emagic and made the software Mac-only.

I have a Powermac G5 (2x2,3 Ghz) with 4,5 GB Ram (and a 23" Apple Cinema HD Display) and what can I say...There's enough power for an instrument/plugin orgy :stongue:

It's a dream to work with Mac/MacOSX & Logic. It's all hand in hand...

I would love to try out Logic Pro 7 on my new Macbook.. unfortunately I don't have nearly the money to buy it as I'm heading to college in the fall... :(

if someone has an extra copy laying around and could hook me up cheap, let me know ;)
Tea-mo
a copy is not enough..you need the usb-key...

When you go to college, you can buy Logic cheaper.

by copy i meant the whole thing, i guess i was a little unclear about that.

looks like the academic copy is $499, that sounds a little better than $999 :)

Try this http://www.journeyed.com/itemDetail.asp?T1=33294538 you being in the UK im not sure if they would use your school as a school to purchase but it's pretty damn cheap I usually buy from here

I do not recomend buying the Academic version of Pro apps' like Logic.
I think a big reason why, it will be hard for you to upgrade in the future. Since your getting a $500 discount, Apple, politly, makes it challenging to upgrade when it is time. Also, the support is just not there compared to the full blown Pro version.

interesting.. i'm actually not in the UK right now, i'm attending college in the states :) I will look into this, is Emagic Logic Audio the same (or similar) as Logic Pro? That's a pretty big price difference!
Tea-mo
Emagic is the (german) comapy that made Logic Audio.
Apple bought Emagic and made Logic exclusive for Mac.

Before they bought it, it was called Logic Audio

Now it's called Logic Pro (and Logic Express)

Funny! I just dug out my logic 5.5.1. I've been doing fl studio, cubase sx3, and vst land (NI esp) till now. But I'm just suddenly tired of all that. I want to use logic, but can't get a mac today, so I dusted off my 5.5.1 plat. Is this what you use to make your songs mycron? Why is steve jobs such a yutz? Can't he continue to support logic audio? He stopped the pc platform back at 6.0 before power pc was even an issue. It's this ongoing fight with bill he has. Has anyone run logic 7 on linux. Some guy today was telling me he does this and it's very fast? How's that for weird :eyespop:
