I know this topic has already been put to rest, but I love the 400. I recently bought it to use with my two Technics 1210MK2s and 2 Denon DNS5000s. I use the toggle switches quite often, and the mixer works wonderfully. I was using a Rane MP24z, but I never got my setup cased-in properly (I had the Rane sitting within a milk crate -- really ghetto-looking, and took up way too much space). The Rane worked great, but I really didn't need that kind of mixer for the setup I have. When I decide to get a custom case for the setup, I'll go back to the Rane. But the 400 is a beautiful little mixer that works really nicely, and hardly takes up any space on my little table-top setup. |

| Can the DJM-400 hook into a PA system? I see two 1/8 inch jacks on the back of the mixer but I think those are for Mic inputs? |

depends on the input of the pa system, but yes, any mixer will hook into a pa system
you just need the right cords or converters |

Am i right in thinking that the 400 doesn't have headphone mix?
If so, that's one improvement you'll find if you move up to the 600/800.
Sure, not everyone uses, needs, or wants one - but I like the safenty net of being able to hear the B'loom l'Boom 'click' sounds of the beats slipping out of time in the headphones.
Just my twopence worth... |

i have the 800 but from what i know if the 400, you can cue the master channel in the phones if thats what you meant. |

Yeah, but I mean have varying degrees of the cued track and the master track playing in the headphones.
Some guy was asking me stuff on my forum about it, and he said that is doesn't have headphone mix - it's either one at full, or both at full, no way to have the cued track playing at full with the Master bleeding in slightly at a lower level.
Is that correct? |

Looks like on the DJM-400 (from looking at the manual) you can select CH 1, CH2, and Master to cue (and any combination thereof). There is not "fader" to adjust the blend of how much the master bleeds in though.
