DJM-400 to DJM-600 upgrade

Im just interested in some quick feedback about about going from a DJM-400 to DJM-600. I have the DJM-400 and I'm totally happy with it, but now I need a 4 channel mixer. I haven't personally used a DJM-600 but the specs and features seem to be the exact same thing as the DJM-400 but with 4 channels. Can anyone just tell me if this is basically the same mixer or if there are new/missing features between the two. Thanks.

you know the 400 has phono/line selector switches right?

i'm assuming you're wanting to add a cdj/turntable to your turntable/cdj setup

you really don't need to add another channel unless you want to do 3 deck mixing with the same sources

the 400 is a good mixer

yeah,i want to add a turntable to my dual cdj setup. I love the 400, it is an awesome mixer, which is why if i was going to a 4 channel one I want something extremely similar.

forgive me for being kind of stupid since i have only been using this equipment for a few months, but i understand what you're saying about the phono/line inputs. that is definitely cool that my mixer already supports up to 4 sources at once even though its only a 2 channel mixer, but do you think its going to be sufficient for 2 turntables and 2 cdj's all connected at once? i really dont know how much of a pain or how crippling it would be compared to a 4 channel mixer. thanks for the reply.

I'd imagine it's not that big of a deal. You're just gonna give your phono/line in switch a workout.

if you want something extremely similar you need to get the DJM-800.

The 400 is the little brother of the 800.

The 400 will sound better than the 600

When will it sound better?

i think im deciding to stick with the 400 and just deal with the toggle switches for a turntable input. i cant really justify buying an 800 and it seems like a waste to dump 1k on a 600 when for a little extra you can have the 800. ill just look into getting the 800 some time in the future

NOBODY should be buying a new DJM-600 at this point. Unless you can find one used, it's just not worth the money.

Good plan

Yeah dude unless you're some sorta badass I think toggling the phono/line switches will be fine.
