Hey has anyone ever seen Darey spin in LA before? How is it? I've been wanting to see him live for the longest time, but he hasn't had any shows in Cali so far this year that I knew of.

yea i remember seeing that he was booked for 1015 a while ago, and then when I went to check again he was no longer booked. Hey Julia, did you mean that matt darey's set was bad or were you referring to Holden's?

i was referring to matt darey's set. well, i shouldnt say his set was "bad" (from what i saw of him)... but he is just not my type at all. he was way too hard (especially coming on right after holden, whose set was amazing), and that killed the mood for alot of people. i guess i shouldnt have put my input on this thread, since i'm not a matt darey fan. sowwy. |

holden + darey is just a poor match up, polar opposites who belong in different rooms. whoever follows the other is doomed to come off sounding like a vibekiller...

The first time I saw him was in England 2 years ago and it was amazing. Then again at 1015 and Soundshaft in London. I also danced last year while he played, I think he's good. He's an amazing producer and does alot of melodic tracks. My all time favorite is electrobuzz. I guess peeps have different taste.

I feel like he is extremely under-rated in the U.S. So many people out there don't even know who he is, yet he should be on the same fame level as trance DJs like tiesto, corsten, and AVB.

Matt Darey is awsome, his nocturnal radio sets have the best flow better then most i hear every week... seen him live twice, once in vegas after tiesto and once in LA after tiesto and he owned tiesto both times. He's very good with ocapela mashups too. he's also produced and remixed some ace choons that we all know and love. anyone who says he's does not have an ear for music, period :)
