Greek Islands/Singapore

Hey Guy's,
I have a choice to make.
Im going to the Greek Island's in 3 weeks.
Anyway I was planning to stay 2 week's, then do Athens 2 days, and Singapore 4 day's.... so 3 week's altogether..
but now I could do 2 weeks GREEK ISLANDS, 6 day's Cyprus, then another 2 week's GREEK ISLANDS>
My mates dad has a 100ft boat, its worth like 10-15mil! hehe
Anyway is 2-4 weeks too long? i dont wanna get bored and i figure 3 weeks may be short n sweet!
ANY ADVICE FROM PEOPLE WHOVE BEEN!

Greece ... and Singapore?
that's odd cause ... well they're not exactly in the same place on the globe if you know what I mean.
How are you getting from one place to another?
Taking into account air travel time or whatever I would consider it a waste of time to go to Singapore only 4 days. |

Yea you sure you're talking about singapore... they're probably weeks of boating apart.
anyway I doubt you'll get bored. |

Yeah unless u wanna do the typical tourist thing you won't get bored in three weeks. If you were thinking about sailing around SE Asia with another white guy in an unguarded $15m boat, I'd strongly recommend against it lol.
You could get a visit from these guys

I saw a documentary thing on pirates off the coast of Africa. They attack all sorts of ships, mostly cruise ships, and are equipped with automatic rifles and RPG launchers. :thepirate |

Yeah and all the ships have to defend themselves is usually watercannons and maybe a couple of pistols. Pretty useless if someone's demanding to board pointing an RPG at your hull. The Asian ones go for cargo ships - kill/imprison the crew, change the name and flog off the cargo. Occasionally i think they'll take a private boat too and hold the occupants for ransom. |

Speaking from experience (I've spent over a week in Athens and the same amount in the greek isles). I'd suggest spending that entire time in the Greek isles. If you are cruising on a yacht and can go wherever you want, I'd suggest checking out Santorini and Mykonos for extended periods of time. I spent about 4 days in each and it just wasnt enough. Santorini is likely the most beautiful place I've ever visited. The visible islands are the rim of an ancient volcano, and in typical mediterranean island style all the houses are white. Its very laid back and a great place to chill out. Mykonos, on the other hand, is the party island. If you make it there, I suggest checking out Cavo Paradiso, which overlooks paradise beach. Djs such as Sasha, John Digweed, Armin Van Buuren, Jeff Mills, Nick Warren, Dave Seaman and Carl Cox will all be hosting shows there this summer. Check out their website at www.cavoparadiso.gr ... Athens, although I enjoyed it for its historical sites (I'm working on my masters in classical archaeology), is not the most tourist friendly city. It is smelly and smoggy, and doesn't offer much to a tourist other than visiting ancient sites. The islands offer everything, however. Santorini hosts the ancient city Thera, which was (just like Pompey) destroyed by a volcano, hence leaving the archaeological site very well in tact (just like pompey). It is also rumored to be part of the ancient, albeit mythical, city of Atlantic. Mykonos also has great places to see. It is just a few minutes away from the island of Delos, the site of Apollo's greatest sancuary. The entire island is a dedication to the god, and its remains are one of a kind. I'm including some pictures to show you what I'm talking about.

for me there is no more PERFECT place to be in than the greek mediterranean in the summer. the water is warm enough to swim in at sunset and soooooo clear and BLUE! the water is pretty saline too so you float with ease. i could probably spend 2 weeks on santorini alone: dramatic cliff village, authentic gyros and seafood, red sand beaches, black sand beaches, white sand beaches and a natural mud bath and hot spring at the crater. i'll admit i've never been to singapore but sailing the greek isles ftmfw!
i spent a month in greece including 5 days on the islands. i wish i just spent the whole month on the islands :o i spent one day on a chartered yacht with a swiss father and son, two french ladies and the captain. that was the best day of the trip... champagne and cocktails on the ocean allll day o_O |

You can see Im from Australia, so Singapore is on the way home, It's a stop over anyway!! hehehe
We're not cruising down there.... it stay's in greek islands....
I know 2 weeks is perfect, thinking 4 weeks may just annoy me a bit... dont get me wrong, i love hot women, but how long can i suntan for and tyr pick up hot girls?
