I don't think it was one of the women who were shot who had the gun (at least the stories I've read haven't indicated that). |

Source? The only quote I see posted in this thread is the one saying that
| quote: |
a man pulled out a gun and opened fire |
Nonetheless, even if it was an accidently cell phone thing, I don't think the women deserve to DIE that's a bit harsh. That's like saying the next time you accidently hit a car, a truck should plow into you and you should die. |

| The fect that there are cell phone guns out there is frightening. you know that a hunter is not gonna buy one, so it is pretty obvious that this is gonna be a street thing. Jesus, who the fak invents these things? As If there isnt enough violence to deal with :whip: :whip: |

| This is rediculous. Hip Hop music should not be played in Mega Clubs. It's unfrotunate because people have to act like s to try to feel special. Pathetic! |

"Eyewitness News has learned the 39-year-old was shot in the left calf. That bullet then struck the 35-year-old in the right leg, lodging into her...They heard a loud noise, but they didn't realize they were hit until they went to a second-floor coat room and saw they were struck."
yes i'm going to have to agree that the girls cellphone gun went off, and the bullet ended up hitting them both. It makes sense that it is a cellphone gun because they didn't fall over or anything but instead walked up the stairs to the coat check. Also it is weird that they say they didn't notice getting shot. Maybe they did notice but decided to leave right away because they didn't want to explain that they snuck a gun into a nightclub. So they go to the coat-check but people notice the blood so they say oh someone must have shot us.
haven't heard of a cellphone gun before but sounds like it is made so that you can sneak it past security at places like nightclubs. If thats what happened i'm happy they shot themselves rather than someone just out to have a good time. |

Not surprising. I am amazed that these women can't go back to work, yet they walked up the stairs after being shot, especially in such a physically demanding field as insurance. Hell, i wouldn't go back to work either if I was sitting on a cash cow like this. I'm guessing it'll settle for a percentage of that.
Thanks to Sleepy&Boo for the story that I copied.

BY ROBERT F. MOORE
DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITER
Two Queens women shot inside the wildly popular Chelsea nightclub Crobar are suing the owners for $20 million each, claiming the bar failed to provide adequate security, lawyers said yesterday.
Antoinette Bryan, 39, and Angelita Dunkley, 35, were near the dance floor at the W. 28th St. club on July 13 when gunfire from what cops say was a .22-caliber handgun ripped into their legs.
"We were just standing there minding our own business," said Dunkley, who still has bullet fragments lodged near her left knee.
No one was arrested for the shooting and the women, both employed in the insurance industry, haven't been back to work because of their injuries.
"We were there to have a good time," Bryan said. "We were there less than an hour. Then we got shot."
The longtime friends say there should have been metal detectors at the 3,000-capacity club, one of the largest in the city.
"This club is a breeding ground for trouble," said Steven Krentsel, a Manhattan attorney who represents the shooting victims. "How many people have to get hurt in this place before they lose their license?"
Club officials didn't return calls yesterday.
Crobar is one of an exploding number of clubs in west Chelsea that cops and city officials say has become Manhattan's epicenter of underage drinking. Cops say violence in and around the clubs has fueled a 7% spike in crime in the 10th Precinct.
Officials with the State Liquor Authority held an emergency meeting after the Crobar shooting to review the club's license, but no action has been taken.
A spokesman said they were still waiting for documentation from the NYPD.
Police have investigated 52 incidents at Crobar this year, including assaults and thefts, and made 22 arrests.
The club has also been hit with more than 30 state liquor violations, accusing employees of serving alcohol to minors, failing to maintain order and selling drugs to patrons.
In October, a 29-year-old woman was snatched after leaving a Halloween party at Crobar. Her attacker forced her into a car, raped her and dumped her in Elizabeth, N.J.
"And now someone is running around with a gun inside the club," Krentsel said. "How does that happen?" |
