I just purchased 8 vinyls from chemical records, totaling $95... I have just realized that with $95 I could have downloaded about 70 quality tunes...
Don't you guys think that for 8 vinyls 100 bucks is a bit much? Hmm... I may just sell both my decks/cdj 800's and get two MK3's
You dont really recognize the expense of vinyl buying 2-3 at a time, but ... when you get it in bulk you really do
 |

| i got big pants |
| the one reason why i buy only what i really like...im over impulse buys with vinyl...no need to spend $10 on a record for one track if they sell it via beatport and such |

| Atleast you will take more time getting to know your 8 songs versus the 70. I think knowing you spend that much on your music it gives you a little bit more appreciation for what you are doing then knowing you could buy a bunch of tunes you are "iffy" about but do it anyway since its so cheap. I give tunes I am gonna buy a few listens before I throw them in my shopping cart knowing its gonna cost me a few extra dollars. ;) |

I ordered 72 from chemical last week.... abusing the flat rate shipping to the uk and abusing the sale :stongue:
Put it this way- you now have 8 records in physical form which if you get bored with you can recoup some (or all) of the initial cost.
Buying the 70 downloads you would have to put it bluntly, all.
All down to the inidividual really- but as I have posted before, i prefer physical goods to a crate of worthless zeroes and ones.
It is a personal choice, but I dont really base my enjoyment of something or how much I value something on its retail price tag.
By the way- the exchange rate really doesnt help when buying from the uk! that goes some way to explaining the cost in this case |

| Even if you buy tracks digitally you should still have a huge list of tracks you need but can't afford. |

| try buying 1,000 records primarily from the UK/Europe and then tell me how many digital downloads that could have gotten you, lol :stongue: |

holly , I just realized that the exchange rate may have quite been what raped me to this expense lol! I didnt even take it into consideration, thank you freak! :whip:
yet chemical records is pretty much the only place I could find many of the records that I want... juno is crap in comparison
I would much appreciate some well equipped U.S. online vinyl dealers...any recommendations freak?
thanks in advance! |

I have noticed on my travels in the states though that a lot of records that come over from europe are often expensive- for obvious reasons. sad fact is that the majority of trance and electronic stuff comes from over this side of the pond, so you will end up paying more for it, as the retailers do too!
As for US retailers....er...im not into trance especially, so no can do. Satelite records in NY springs to mind as stocking trance, but i doubt they will be as upfront or highly stocked as chemical.

hmm actually the exchange rate doesnt seem to effect me too much..
DJ Shash - beautiful on dancerecords.com = $9.99
on chemical it's = £5.10 which is $9.31
Another record
Super 8 helsinki on danrecords = $9.99
on Chemical it goes for £4.68 which is $8.54
lol.... it seems as if chemical is even cheaper |

Problem with that site is a lot of things are not in stock. Even newer releases. |
