umm..back to the question.
how many non white friends do I have?

Calgary is an all white little asian, little indian(both kinds) and like no blacks. my 3 years in high school(total of ~9000 ppl) there were 8 blacks. You go to urban night @ the bar, its all black, and there are maybe 300 ppl there.
its not that im racist, its the lack of opportunity. when in high school I used to hang out with some Azns, but never became close friends with em.
also, maybe its good to let it be known, that I live in Alberta, which is kinda still a racist province, and I have racists relatives, and friends parents who are racist.... |

I pretend to be Chinese. Most of my friends (at least those I consider to be friendly to me) are Chinese but that's just de facto. I would assume that most of you people who are white (most, not all) have mostly white friends b/c
1) almost all of you are from countries where "whites" are the vast majority
2) assuming trance plays a large role in your life then I would assume that you mostly associate with white people since I've noticed trance is more or less a white thing (at least in terms of being a subculture) |

there was this asian hip hop and r/b party in e-town a while back called asian persuasion. didn't go, i there was something else though. alot of asians i know r into hip hop and r/b. but there's a fair share in every genre of music
if u think AB's somewhat racist i lived in SK for a year. people kept asking how long i've lived in canada. sad really, generations upon generations of asians have live in canada, i'm canadian and still i get asked that stupid question. well, ok i wouldn't go as far as to call them racist, maybe a little sheltered w/ maybe a touch of ingnorance |

100% Mandarin Chinese here.
i hang out with 2 cliques, white and asian. Usually i go to the other when one is not doing anything. Most of the asians here @ SB are into hip hop & R&B which is why Trance/House DJs are not widely popular here. Hopefully that'll change once i can persuade some of my friends to get into trance more and spread the word. :)

half my friends are white, the other half non-white.
Most of the non-white are jamaicans (due to my location). I have 2 asian friends, and they are the biggest trance/techno freaks.... and a bunch of asians that were in my high school all listened to electronica way before i was into it.... so i have this perception now that all asians listen to bad-ass music (LoL)... until i saw Fast and the Furious.... now i think all asians listen to hip hop.
ok, a joke. You'd be surprised how many blacks you will see in the trance clubs down here.... probably about 25%.... which i think is awesome... its great to see different races interacting in clubs to trance & techno.
a LARGE portion of my friends are hispanic, as this is a large group down here....
I consider italians white.... whoever said "my dad's italian, so i'm non-white" must really be afraid of being white... LoL.
I get along fine with other races (non-whites, as you call them).... african-americans, asians, hispanics, jamaicans, etc.... the only group that i really haven't had too much success with is Haitians... (this may be due to my area though)... most of the haitians in this area have been the trouble causers.... but again, this isn't all haitians, just the ones in this area.
We're all the same color on the inside though. :)

i dont generally keep a count but the majority of my friends are white.. similar to j-spot, there just arnt that many non-white peoples in chesterfield.. but unlike j-spot there isnt much racism around here these days... but i do have a few asian/black/woteva mates scattered around. |
