Yea, I'm Asian as well hehe :)
My parents are 100% Canto/Honkie Chinese.
Most of my friends are non-whites. I'm not against whites or anything it's just that we don't dig the same music. Most of them I know who go to uni are into alternative rock and all that surfie e. But most of them are friendly and pretty easy going.
Most of my friends are Asian, few Lebanese, Greek, Indian. Used to know this dude who was half Aussie and half Kiwi (Moari). He was a really cool guy despite the fact that he used to rock up stoned to uni most of the time , hahaha.
One thing bad about non-whites is that they can be pretty exclusive towards others of a different race. Most of them only hang around themselves. Not really concerned about that though. As long as they don't think they're hard and start with other ppl.
I'm cool with anyone if they dig the same music and as I do :) |

| i study in a predominately black university, so i got a lot of black friends around. also, i communicate with all the international students, so i got also indian and chinese friends. |

yeah i totally agree about the exclusive towards other races...there are exceptions where i have this friends who white but just hangs around with us all the time (ie only white guy) |

That happens at my uni was well. There's this guy who's white and always hangs around the Filos and Lebs. He's like full on homie you know. Talks like one, dresses like one. But he's pretty cool dude :)

btw I'm asian too! well sorta, my dad is part white and from the US but i consider myself CBC(Canadian Born Chinese) I have lots of friends that aren't from the same background as me. Here in T.O. usually everybody gets along with everybody. I have arab, black, white and asian friends. To me, as long as nobody gives me any trouble I can be friends with anybody.
About the asian thing. I don't knoe why we asians still consider asians from abroad FOBS(Fresh Off da Boat) and locals, CBC's. I admit i call some people that but usually all asians are all the same no matter where they come from. I guess here in Toronto asians like to stick to their own kind from the same area and background. I even read an article about this in the local newspaper awhile back. Not sure if any other TA's in T.O caught that.
But anywayz, it's great to see the asians representing the Trance scene!

Were you refering to that article on Boom! in the Toronto Star? That article was in so many aspects true. FOBS and CBCS rarely hang out together simply because they don't have anything in common. They have different interests. A lot of FOBS who are new to the country find that it's easier to relate to other FOBS. A lot of it also has to do with music and pop culture.
I had a girlfriend who was a FOB :D but it didn't take too long to realize that we weren't compatible. |

| Hey Trancewave, yeh i suppose ur right. CBC's and FOB's aren't too compatible. I dated a FOB in the past and yeh i realized as well that we had nothing much in common other than sex. But I have a few FOB friends that i get along with, but then there are a few that i've had brawls with. = ) |
