This thread applies to people that work part-time to help pay for their own things. i.e. their car, school, or just spending money.
Or are you the type that gets things from their parents (i.e. car, clothes, computers, etc...)
Do you work for your own things? Do you get everything from your parents? Or a little bit of both?
Bottom line: How financially independent are you from your parents? |

well, a bit of both.
since I am in this traineeship at the moment, I make some money.. therefor I pay more things myself than I used to...
money for school: parents (they are considered rather wealthy and therefor I almost don't get money from the government)
clothes: me
goin' out: me
car: don't have 1. usually use my dad van, and then I pay for the fuel.
live (free) with my partents
interiour stuff etc. (radio,tv): pay this stuff myself..
so, nothing exciting... atm I am finally getting enough money to buy & drive my own car but I am not sure I can in the future and therefor need to bring up the patience to wait for even better times..:(

| Well I'm a full time college student and yes my parents pay for my tuition and such, so I try to pay for everything else I can, such as personal expenses, books, food and I pay for any trips that I may take. But work study money can only cover so much... :sadgreen: |

yeah i work and am financially independent from parents. it feels good to be independent but sometimes i'd rather not have the responsibility. i am a researcher that runs clinical trials with pharmaceuticals in managing cholesterol for the prevention of heart disease. in a few years i hope to attain a professorship at a university. *keeps fingers crossed* i also work as a promoter for some clubs in LA and i dj which brings in some income (but usually more outflow than in).

I'm a senior in high school. I work part time 20 hours a week. I pay for everything from food (for lunch during school, dinner when i go out, etc.) gas for the car, AP tests, SATs, cell phone, haircuts, etc...
I drive my sister's car, so I don't pay for that. Everything else I try to pay for. |
