I was reading about it today. Some of the explanations (against criticisms) were quite convincing.
Go look at wikipedia and look for the entries on this matter: they link to some interesting articles (since wikipedia is not the absolute source of truth :p) |

Good points, Omega - there are some visual proofs against the so-called "fails" too, such as the one claiming the flag couldn't look that way on the moon.
