I think all remixes suck compared to the original ....especially the carl b remix. I think he should try some new soudns, all his remixes and works sound the same after his remix of angels and demons. Same structure, same sounds and pretty mediocre mixdown/masters...

what do u think

not really a big fan of the original itself, although i liked some parts of it. I totally agree with you about the remixes. they should have been better and seeing the remixers i would have guess at least one would be nice but alas they were not.:sadgreen:
It's too bad though because there was potential with this track. Maybe there will be some 2013 re-makes.:happy2:

I think the original itself already sucks. Cheesy and generic as hell.

btw. Some parts of the original somehow remind me of Armin's remix of Janeiro

That's true.. but the track takes a really different mood in the main part :)

personally I prefer the original mix, didn't like the remixes as much.

The Funabashi remix of Divine I like better than the original. It sounds much less prominent of a ripoff of Janiero, and it sounds less cheesy as it's far more subdued. Not to mention it's a crisp production altogether and a remix that actually fits the bill of being titled a remix.

Prefer the original - none of the remixes really do it for me.

I really like the Original Mix a lot. For me, it just works really well.

The thing I find interesting, is that a lot of people complain that trance was way better back in '89/'99. But then a track like Divine comes along that has those old euphoric/uplifting vibes, and people complain that its lame cheese.

More on topic, having been a fan of the original for a few months, I was eager to hear what the remixes would be like. Unfortunately, all three are really poor. The 3rd Moon Mix dumps everything that made the original special. In fact, it pretty much dumps anything that would even make it recognizable! I’d never guess this was a remix of “Divine” if I didn’t already know.

The Funabashi Mix comes closest, but I think it too misses the mark. Seems like at has the makings of a really good mellower/prog mix, but it just doesn’t use the elements from the original to full effect.

There are only a few moments in the original that remind me of Janeiro, just like there are many parts in different tracks that REMIND me of other tracks... I don't consider Divine a rip off whatsoever. It's a good euphoric and emotional track that deserves it's attention. The remixes are absolute . I expected A LOT more from ALL of those remixers.

Instead of 3rd Moon, Funabashi, and Carl B they should have chosen either:

Alex M.O.R.P.H.
Octagen
Ronski Speed
Sonicvibe
Stoneface and Terminal
The Thrillseekers
Hydroid

all of which are previous Somatic Sense hit makers.

somatic sense is taking it way to easy with remixes lately, seems everything gets remixed by carl b and funabashi.... they should ask me...ffs

Hard to recoup from big expensive remixes. You guys forget that remixes cost money! Money that's harder and harder to come by nowadays becuase of lower sales.

Armin
Anybody knows "Wandii's big uplifter remix"?

Imho is the best version of "Divine" :toocool:

true, but why not ask newer talented artists who havent been affected by the "ow i got a name now so i can ask 1000 euros for a remix for 10 hours of work" virus
