what do you expect? The original version of rapture is a poppy mess of goo. Not until Riva remixed it, did it gain notoriety and decency.

Though I did hear the beginning of the Riva remix as the background music for the BBC1 weekend television schedule, but it stopped before any vocals came in. You know the type "This weekend on BBC1, and there's trouble for Beppe in Eastenders at 8 'o' clock....at eight thirty another chance to see our award winning documentary about the surprisingly varied eating habits of woodlice...and then at nine forty-five it's time to check if you're a winner when Dale Winton hosts the National Lottery Live TV show. Finally at ten it's sit down and enjoy this weekends blockbuster movie; Free Willy 2. Closed by the News at 11:30, that's Saturday night on BBC1. Staying in, it's the new going out."

Sorry went off on a bit of a tangent there.

haha, the sad thing is it's so true:D

yeah i heard it on my local top 40 radio around here too. it was the original mix and i just had to laugh as i heard carson daly "say that was the new iio track, rapture."

They've been playing Iio here in Toronto for a couple of months now, here its considered Gino beats now. Somehow i stopped liking it as much as i used to....

well.. i considering the fact that they played the song on a hip hop station, im pretty sure its going no where near mainstream in Los Angeles

one of our most popular radio stations here in melbourne, australia (fox fm) plays rapture quite a lot and it's doing quite well on the charts i think, also on saturday night (chemistry) they have a live dj, he spun the riva remix of rapture a few months before we started hearing the original on the radio (this was about nov last year) so that surprised me.

the original version is good! what the hell are you trance obsessed people on about! (not that im not obsessed myself) :P

There was a thread about this a lil while ago... it seems like, except for Radio 1 and Radio 538, most of the radio stations that ppl say is playing Rapture, they're playing the original mix. I hate that mix and I wonder why they would choose that one of all remixes?
dj dave b
because that version is the ORIGINAL version and it would appeal to a much larger audience, simple as that

personally i think if you don't like what's on the radio don't listen to it! :toothless:

and I know it sucks that people always hear commercial trance and then dub trance as because most of the commercial stuff is !, that's just gonna happen :(.

ok this was really ing lame.. on one of the local radio stations (that usually plays top 40 type music which is about 90% hip hop and 10% alternative) they have this thing at 7:30pm called "bump it or dump it" in which they play a song that is not in the normal rotation to see if it can make it.. well this is how they described Rapture: "a song that has that kylie minoque sound to it" and i was like wat the is this all about?! then they go ahead and played it.. it wasn't the trance remixes, it was i guess the original and afterwards the dj said "so that was Rapture by the group iio" i dunno i had to laugh.. and anyways the range of comments that came in from listeners on the radio were: "dump it" "that music sucks" blah blah!

haha that really sucks, what station was it? power? oh and tiesto14 i hope they don't play those either, and it would SUCK if they over play rapture here :whip:
