Tiesto - Austin Sept 1st (pg. 5)

Any of you that missed this, consider yourselves lucky that lightning hasn't struck your dumb asses dead. Tiesto SMOKED that place like a Havana, and that was after two supremely stellar opening sets by Sean Carnahan and Kenneth Thomas that I didn't think could be topped. My God, I haven't seen that kind of almost-religious fervor and frentic energy at a gig since Hernan Cattaneo, and this blew even him away! 2,500+ people crammed into a warehouse-sized dance floor. If it wasn't for security, it might as well have been an orgy. Make no mistake, boys and girls: when Tiesto gets right down to it, he knows how to earn that #1 title, and he can thrash a crowd like no one I've ever seen before (granted, I've never seen Paul van Dyk in person, plus others who could easily fit that same bill, so direct comparison from my perspective is not possible at this juncture. More seasoned clubgoers will have more information about that than I do) and the guy is no joke behind a deck. Epic trance at its finest, with flawless timing.

Annnnnnd. . .the afterparty was just as slamming! Bruce Gibbons and the Molinator sacked and burned the almost 400 post-Tiesto hurtmongers who went into Alley 416 for more, and Kenneth Thomas pulled off a double and threw salt over the remains for another two hour set of trance goodness!

Pics will be up at phocas.net probably later today or early tomorrow. I took almost 400 shots, it'll take me a bit to get it sorted out, not to mention that I've had one hour of sleep since they kicked us out of Alley 416.

Glad to hear it was a good time.

That afterparty was something else.

Both after parties blew ass. I'm sorry but I was completely hammered, and in your drunkest moments you always find a way to have a good time. I was so ing bored. I had a better time trying to hold down my vodka redbull then standing around with a couple of random douchebags who had no idea how to appreciate good music. Austin music scene surprises me sometimes. My friends had somewhat of a decent time. Good to hear Tiesto went over well, I'm glad you guys had a blast :). Downtown was insane PS! I guess the hype for the opening season had everyone in good spirits good god that was a blast!

Playlist for tiesto last night at Austin Music HAll. UYes UI am drunk but I require the playlist that pwned all the hoes last night.

I know KT was throwing down a lot of his own stuff at the afterhours. He even dropped his own remix of Satellite that I was actually enjoying.

Lostep - Burma (pillow one remix)
