the damage it [i.e. E] does remains forever :( |
This is scientifically UNPROVEN and intensely debated and you know it. |

well i used to roll 3 times a week for a couple months and i have HPPD (not very extreme but enough that i dont do any psychedelics at all anymore) and id argue that what the other guy says is true. although someone made a good point saying that it all depends on individual neurochemistry and the mind is a very subjective thing anyways so its hard to make any firm conclusions especially considering the lack of [modern] research into the matter. although i am aware that i abused the drug and do beleive that it has therapeutical or other positive pontential. |

I've done plenty of e in my life and there are ways to contain any damage to your brain. Take at least 1800mg of Vitamin C before and after you do it, 5HTP, Phenylalinine, Tyrosine, Calcium, Magnesium and a good multivitamin. Preferably take a Prozac 6 hours afterwards. These will minimise any damage to your brain and ensure the optimum ride. |
I wish everyone took such precautions before taking drugs, then there would be virtually no problem with them as no one would end up getting hurt. Just be careful of who you're getting your drugs from and whats in them and take care of yourself before and after taking the drug and most of the time you'll be ok.
Instead, using E as an example, some dude or chick goes out, gets some bad E which probably isn't even E...drinks alcohol making things worse, dances and overheats, and then dies and all of a sudden E is looked at as evil and dangerous and illegal...same thing has happened with pretty much every other drug.
Yet how many people go out, act stupid and drink themselves to death every year and thats still perfectly legal:rolleyes: |

| like most everyone in this thread, ive done my share of e. i'd have to say, i give props to anyone who could actually die due to taking e, (unless the pill was toxic or some like that). that would be hard. i always hear people say, "when you're on e you might forget to drink water" or some gay like that. thats impossible. drinking any liquid on e is the bombest feeling. you cant not drink water. although one time i took like....4 blue dolphins and smoked 4-5 bowls and went and played football. there was no water there. i was running around for 90 minutes without water. the driest my mouth has ever been. i could feel the dryness seeping down my throat. i was was fine though. looking back, that was pretty in stupid. ah well. |

I disagree, people often get caught in the moment and forget to drink, or worse, feel that booze is a valid substitute. The sheer amount of people I see muntered in clubs that arent carrying water bottles is testament to that. |

i have a premed degree with a specialization in neuroscience, and imo mdma/mda are rather benign when used responsibly, and any socalled "scientist" who has published otherwise oughta take a hard look at what it means to do real research and not just find whatever results those funding your work wanted to find.
Most educated people who actually look into it know that mdma isn't really toxic, but if you really dig, most recreational drugs including marijuana, cocaine, heroin, mushrooms, lsd, and even the dreaded methamphetamine, aren't really very dangerous if used by mentally and physically healthy people, used responsibly, and used sparingly and in reasonably small doses. Serious problems generally only develop from the side effects of addiction and not taking care of yourself becuase you're so f'd up all the time and spending all your cash on drugs instead of things like food and rent.
As a side note, the famous "holes in the brain" pictures used as propoganda against ecstasy by the us government, were later found out to be from methamphetamine and not mdma, and also had been dosed to the kind of levels that no recreational user would ever be capable of. - i actually learned this in a classroom at uc irvine :) |

Wasn't like an equivalent dose to a human doing 1g per kilo body weight? |

that was the NIDA study, from the same genius that said that E causes parkisons disease.... and ya it was about 1g per kilo body weight. and that wasnt E either, it was Methamphetamine dosed intravenusly..... man those monkeys must have had one helluva trip..... if your going to get swiss cheese brain, i cant think of a more fun way to do it.
im about 230 lbs, so thats like 104 kg aprox. so 104 GRAMS of pure methamphetamine on intravenous drip? im surprised the monkeys were breathing after that dose..... that had to be approachin LD50... |
