I would say over the last couple of years Northern Ireland has really started to love trance and house in a big way..
Producer & DJ Wise, we have spawned, Fergie, Agnelli & Nelson and Dogzilla in recent years..
alot of the hard house DJ's are now in Belfast most weeks.. (Lisa Lashes & co)
And Trance DJ's are over quite alot as well.. (especially in the Famous 'Lush' http://lush.kellysportrush.co.uk/ )
Our biggest dance event 'Planet Love' also gets bigger every year... this year is going to be broadcast live on Radio 1.

They have a lot of great parties laterly............
on the other hand I would say NL and UK in Europe, germany have some great producers but less parties ;)
and Canada/ USA

I'm interested to know how many years it was since the British clubbing public were the target of epic trance. Not since the heyday of Gatecrasher, certainly. It's been mainly house for years now. |

There is a bit of a psytrance scene in Italy, e.g. the Etnica/Pleiadians-guys are quite legendary. I've seen there are some big events down there also. |

i thought it was picking up although with the closing down of the arena and the matrix its a major step backwards. the arena imo was in par with kellys. with that closing down the matrix picked up although was closed down a while after.
there are still places like the coach for trance and i think its the nerve centre in derry which is geared towards house/techno.
shine in belfast probably one of the best nightclubs in the uk tech-house wise. it has seen some of the best djs in this genre over the years. although you need to like this music to go otherwise it can be a very dull night.
anyway i think they need a new major nightclub opened up somewhere to give it a real trance boost. you have the smaller events like precious who have gleave dobbin and chris davies as residents and weekly sets by lisa lashes, agnelli and nelson etc although i wouldnt classify it as a mjor club same goes for sin @ laverys. |

Didn't realise that matrix & the met arena had stopped..
coming from glengormley I usually hear whats going on in Belfast and Lush and thats about it...
I'd quite like to meet up with your good self for a night clubbing as alot of my mates are into their cheese and r n b etc..
was in thompsons tonight, and have to say if you like house its pretty decent although the door staff are picky! |

precious gets some cracking DJ's sometimes, like Randy Katana, Jon O'Bir, Scot Project and other quality DJ's have played in the last year, although they bring in the usual dodgy crowd.. |
