What's amusing is that people are more concerned about the dogs than the people who died.
EDIT: I do not agree with how the situation was handled though. |

yeah people care about the dogs. Here in america we love our animals and we treat them as part of the family and by no means would you ever get me to beat mine. Its sick how they did this. If you are going to kill a dog cat or whatever you do it humainely and not beat the out of them until they are dead. |

why would they do that? the dogs were clearly helping with their overpopulation problem.
i just can't find it in me to have more compassion for humans than dogs... |

I wonder if it were 50,000 cockroaches or 50,000 iguanas how would people here react. What exactly makes a dog a superior being that people seem to put on the same level as humans?
I obviously don't agree with beating animals to death, that's brutal, I'd much rather prefer they'd do it in a less painful way. But to spare human lives, they needed to be killed. So much horrible stuff happens around the world that this isn't even a remarkably special situation. |

lol umm, dogs & iguanas are a bit further up on the food chain than roaches. roaches spread disease and are disgusting and are unable to feel pain or show emotion or loyalty. |

fine point about loyalty, but do you think being beaten to death wouldn't be a pretty emotional moment for them? |

yea i know, but they generally aren't known as disease spreading crustateans (sp?). they are more on the humane scale where they can catch one and spread it. roaches are disgusting, dirty "creatures" that have been around since prehistoric ages. they hang out in sewers and garbages for christ's sake.

no, just stepping on it would be sufficient enough.
i'm not quite sure, i can't put my finger on it. was i a cochroach in my other life? hmm, no that's not it. oh wait!! maybe it's because the size of a cochroach's "brain" is that of a bread crumb, while the size of a dog's brain is more like the fist of a large male hand, thus it is more capable of feelings and emotions. do cochroaches run up to you and greet u at the door with love and affection and their tongue sticking out ready to give you licks (kisses). ok they might run up to u at the door, but if that's the case, then u need to clean up your house and call the exterminator.

for whom? the dog or the roach? the dog, yes. that would be horrible. the roach? i dont think it would shed any tears. it's phsycially not capable of it. |

In any case, the argument of intelligence is a redundant one. Our very definition of intelligence is based on human characteristics. It's just circular logic. |

Do you have a dog? If not, then you'll never know until you get one.
From this post, it's obvious that you don't own a dog. |
