Electric Razors
View this Thread in Original format

Ok, since i got a new job in an office it requires me to be clean shaven every day or else i get sent home.... Problem is i get really bad razor burn from shaving everyday....
So my gf is looking at buying me an Electric razor for my Birthday in 2 weeks. She's looking at buying me a phillips phillishave with 3 rotary heads and a cleaning system.
Few questions to ask...
Do electric razors leave stubble?
Do they give a smooth shave like after a wet shave?
Which brand to you reccomend?

Thanks:)

i never used one. I don't have to shave everyday, so i go for the sexy "enrique iglesias, desyn masiello" kinda look :toocool:

I use the Philips Cool Skin HQ7742 for closer shaves (can be used in the shower and has a shower cream applicator thingy)

Not as close as with a razor, but no cuts or razorburn for me :)

On a day to day basis, I use the Braun Pockt Twist 370. It's a dry shaver that removes enough stubble for me to pass a day at work.

woah. I bought one of those a week ago mate :) I have a mole on my upper lip which i kept nicking and bled for 2 hours last time, i got fed up so forked out.

Advantages of the cool skin range-

wet shaving possible
nivea cartridges moisturise
quick & easy to use, washable and when you pay £5 a time for new blades on mach3, it soon pays for itself (I got mine reduced at £85 from £100)

This is mine. Does the job well but does leave a bit of razor burn. I've been thinking of moving to wet shaving for a while, but Mach 3 etc blades are very expensive and dont last that long.

All electric ones will leave some degree of razor burn and they dont clear everything. Part of the reason for that is its harder to tell what parts you've missed, as you dont have shaving foam to show you where you havent shaved yet.

I've literally just shaved before making this post. Its smooth, but if I look in the mirror there are one or two bits that I've missed.

Definatly get one thats washable though, trying to clean it out with small brushes is a nightmare. And if you ever take it apart, keep the pieces in order. Keep each blade with the head it came out of, DONT mix them.

Yeah, got mine 2.5 years ago in a duty free store in a greek airport :D

It's very easy to tell if you missed a spot, just run you hand against the grain and you will feel any stuble you ahve missed and can target it :)
