you think? oakey fell out the top 10 for the first time last year & it hasn't exactly done him much harm has it!

he's famous enough already, future poll positions won't mean jack to him or his fans. it wouldn't surprise me if he could still demand more than pvd in honesty

yeah but that isn't exactly the same.. pvd spent 6-7 years in the top 10 before winning it, whereas tiesto has already held it for three years & exploited it as far as he can.. he's reached all his targets & has nowhere left to climb

true, but doesnt a musician/artist/dj constantly grow and evolve, or at least want to grow and evolve, in which case will always want to reach new targets.

what greater feasable targets are there for him to reach though? i fail to see how him spending a 4th year at the top would prove anything significant at all, that's the thing.. and by the sounds of it, he feels the same.

he may want to evolve, but not necessarily in the upwards direction..

Other than help strengthen my original theory that he bought shedloads of unique IPs to spam vote himself to the top :D

He probably makes more money on the interest off his bank account than he does performing 15 gigs a month. He doesn't need it, and he knows it.

If anything the only reason the price is so high right now is that they can get away with asking for so much. I'd reason that a lower position would indeed lower the booking fee. But hardly would that change anything, except for lower ticket costs for joe public

(another good reason to go with his wishes not to vote)

New talent

Hi Everybody,

I just finished my gig in Las Vegas half an hour ago. I had an epic weekend with four great shows. I spent a couple of days in Tahoe, went to Austin Texas, a festival in Chicago and the Global festival at the Palms hotel in Vegas.

Every night I went out with the promoter of the city I was in and most of them where bringing up the DJ Magazine top 100 voting. It's a big thing for most of the promoters and most of them will book DJ's that are high on this list.

That made me think, because if that's the case the voting is important. Especially to breed new talent.
There are so many new great young DJ's out there that I feel it's time to give them a chance. I appreciate all the love and support I get from all over the world but I won this award three times so if I would win it a fourth time, it wouldn't make a difference for my career.
For the new talented DJ's around the world it could make a difference, so I would like to ask all the people who support me to vote for new talent.

Don't vote for me, vote for the new breed!

I just voted myself and my personal top 5 is:

1.Eddie halliwell
2.Sander van doorn
3.Serge deviant
4.Blake jarrell
5.Richard Durant

Thanks again to everybody who came to my shows and who bought the new single 'dance4life'!

Love,

Tiësto
