I say everyone votes for Richie Hawtin as he is the only one in the top few who did something interesting this last year (DE9: Transitions - 6 to 7 tracks continously layered at a time, and he's now a member of Narodniki) and has a chance of actually replacing the ever-dominant trance DJs at the top of the list.

God no.

Well, that's a good reason.

I'm going to reiterate my post: I respectfully submit that everyone should vote for Richie Hawtin. Getting some guy to 72nd place or 13th place means nothing, the only one that people remember is who finished first, and that's only going to be somebody who was already near the top last year. If you care about the music, then we need to change it up and get rid of the same old trance DJs who have been at the top ever since 2000. If somebody like Hawtin came first, it would be a real favour to the EDM scene just for the sake of demolishing the status quo.

And like it or not, the DJ Mag poll is important because it is what sets booking fees and determines who will be popular for club nights in the year to come. If you think the poll is e, do something about it. We need to change it up!

i agree nothing has been achieved if everyone votes for some unknown name just to get him in the top 100 it doesnt really prove anything.
everyone shuold vote for a dj that finished in the top 30 last year and actually deserves to get into the top 10

well that's the thing. people won't agree upon a DJ which already is somewhere around #30. They can agree like last year when we voted for Mikey Mike because he wasn't on the list at all and that was a fun thing to do to prove how lame this voting is.

well thats the thing it didnt really prove anything he never even got into the top 100 the only people that knew about it were us and the magazine 99% of people who voted didnt know what we did.
Wouldnt it be making more of a statement if we could get a different dj to be number 1 and stop pvd armin or tiesto from winning
DJ Nickazz
The reason that Mikey Mike didn't reached the top 100 list is that not everyone wants to vote for him because he isn't liked by everyone:o
If we just make up a fake lame DJ-name more people will vote for it.

The biggest coup possible would be getting a non-trance DJ to number one.

Woo. Rolleyes. You're cool.

All it will bring is increased booking fees (which are already way too high) and even more hipsters going to see him just because he's the number 1. I honestly don't see how that can be any good.

Hawtin's quality, he has always been and probably will be for some time to come. People that are into his music will come and go see him anyway, for the right reasons.

Him getting the #1 spot will actually do jack for "the EDM scene".
