Anniversary @ club EAU and energy 2000 are easily the best tiesto sets, I've heard some pretty crappy ones those - those two definately top it.
Especially the start of eau, 10 in 01 goes nuts. |

Livesets are not the be-all and end-all. I don't think releasing just 3-4 30 minute livesets this year has done Tijs any favours amongst the online communities that are never going to see him live anyway.
I would also be disappointed if that was all i heard from Tiesto in 2006.
However - at longer sets this year he has completely owned the crowd... even playing some very groovy classics like Vitalic - La Rock...
Give the guy a break. I'm pretty sure that if he had a radioshow or regular guest-slot podcast or something, then people would be thinking quite the opposite about his 'form' this year. |

I havn't heard one tiesto live set this year to be honest, I really should get my hands on some - but has he made some awesome sets in the past.
I praise him alone for pumping Supermode - Tell me why at most of his sets these days, even though it's a housey song is it catchy.
Tiesto & Sean Tyas is all I need. |

Playing a mixed-bag is why he has stood out... It was only during the very very melodic days did he stray down just 1 simplified style.
1985 - 1997 = very hard, but also with extended sets, a lot of variety & house & techno cuts.
2001 - present = back to playing accessible-prog, trance & techy .
Too bad everyone judges today's performance by the 4 years in between ;) |

The_Chris: Agreed, i felt he has not played well since the end of 2003 as well.
However i did enjoy his concert set from day 2 in october 2004 and still think that was his last really decent "tiesto" sounding set.
Since then he's been really dull. I would still rank him above the direction armin went after that same period |

| 2002 was the last year I really enjoyed Tiesto's sets. However, I did love the Just Be Release Party @ Heineken Music Hall. But the longer things go on the more it seems like Tijs is simply done. I'd love to see him come back into the core of the genre but I don't see it happening. |
