So when it comes to friends and music, everyone has different taste
Since most people on this website are into trance (go figure) you probably almost all have fallen into the same boat
Converting friends from rap/rock/top 40 to trance, house, etc

Has anyone here ever lost a friend because of difference in music?
For myself, once i turned 19, i did lose some touch with friends bcuz I try to go 2 clubs that play the music i like and if they arent into it, well we dont go clubbing together as much
But I've also converted almost all my friends into trance heads!

watabout the rest of you?

WHen my homeys are at my house, we listen to my music, i am always open to suggestions and new genres, and when we are at their house, we listen to their music, and most of the time they are open to some suggestions.

most of my close friends aren't into trance. or at least they're not into 'proper' trance. they like the poppy tracks that are played in clubs.

but it doesn't matter, i like to go to pubs/clubs in town as well. i don't HAVE to go to a trance night to have a good time.

I haven't lost friends, but I have lost touch with friends via becoming immersed in EDM and club life. It wasn't that I didn't have friends who could appreciate the music. Most of them liked trance etc, even though they weren't into it hardcore. What created the distance was the lifestyle.

Simply put, I could afford the trance enthusiast/edm/club lifestyle. They couldn't. I found myself going to clubs more and more and I'd try bringing my friends along. They enjoyed it most of the time. Sometimes though, I'd find myself paying for all my friends' admission, or paying for VIP for everyone etc. After a few times doing that I realized, "ope! time to get new friends!"

Seems like most TA's have decent incomes, or are financed pretty well. Whatever the case may be, it's been great to meet people who love music and can also carry their own weight in expenses.

I still see my old friends around here and there. I'll still invite them out every now and then for especially huge events, but nothing more than that. We have different interests now, and different goals. Change is good. :)

I believe the first world college experience will totally kill the financial security I once had in terms of going out clubbing.

most of my friends' tastes vary so I would lose alot of friends if we bickered over music. alot of them listen to hip hop (the kind), rock, 80s, dance, etc. its all good as long as we get along and respect each others tastes.
