Wasps are borderline harmless.
Swat them with your hand and they'll fly off. They're actually very nervous things. They'll only sting you if they're cornered.
Bees if anything, are worse. They are much more agressive. |

Actually it's the bees that die after they sting. Wasps and bumblebees survive. |

What the hell?! stung by a bumblebee? thats unheard of! :stongue:
I used to have a big patch of sunflowers with dozens of bumblebees at a time feeding. I used to flick them off the flowers. Never been stung in my life (by a bumblebee... several times by yellow jackets and wasps. hornets too) |

The first time I was stung, I was eating cracker jacks and drinking soda from a can. I went to swallow some pop and felt what I thought was a piece of a cracker jack that had fallen into my pop, so I moved it around to spit it out. Lo and behold, it was a bee, and nailed my lip on the way out.
I got stung by a wasp the other day. Someone left the screen door open, and when I walked back to my room I thought I saw something on my shirt so I brushed at it, and it was gone. A couple minutes later, I feel something crawling on my hand, then a sting. I bat it off of me and go into the kitchen to see if the stinger was stuck in me. It wasn't, but the wasp started crawling on my neck, so I swatted it to the ground and stomped on it.
Half of my uncles on my dad's side of the family are deadly allergic to bees, so each time I've been stung my mom's panicked. Fortunately, I didn't get that gene. |

Yes, bumblebees are very chill by nature. They don't go hating on people easily. But I went down a slide and fell forward into the sand and my hand got right on a chillin bumblebee. So he got slightly pissed, stung me and buzzed off.
If you take it real cool you can even pet bumblebees on their furry backs. They are soft. |
