of course my question pre-supposes a belief in God. Athiests don't have any need to reconsile creation with evolution. The question was for those believers who have pangs about this sort of thing. |

Why is it that so many people cannot fathom that evolution may be a process for which God set the framework and that the creation story in Genisis is simply an alagory to explain the origin of the world in terms that a bronze age culture, such as the hebrews were, could understand? If looked at in this manner evolution and creation need not be mutually exclusive. |
Beat me to it you bastard! :tongue2 |

Yeah. At least I get to go to heaven now :( :D
(Curiously though, being an atheist never changed my views toward chastity :p) |

I suppose there are perfectly good secullar reasons to remain chast.... I never subscribed to them but that doesn't mean they don't exist. |

| i myself subscribe to the idea that a giant turtle puked the universe out. he's pretty sorry about the whole ordeal, but he had a stomach ache that day and couldn't avoid it. |

Constantine moved from Polytheism to Monotheism? So you see the movement being initiated at the human level, because you believe humans created god.
Then don't you find it the least bit suspicious that the head of the Egyptian Polytheism is named AMEN?
And that at the end of Egyptian Polytheism Amen started absorbing all the gods around him (hence the name change to AMEN-RA). Perhaps when Amen was finished with Egypt he absorbed the Roman pantheon? |
