Ok, let's say... hypothetically... someone has their bicycle stolen. This bike, hypothetically, cost over $600.
Now let's say that the person who stole the bike gets caught, and admits to being the thief.
What does the person who had the bike stolen have the right to do in this situation (in Canada, or namely, Ontario)? |

Did you file a theft declaration with the police department?
Has the item been restituted?
Have you updated the police departement with the change in situation, as well as information pertaining to the alleged thief?
That's all hypothetical obviously! |

Hypothetically, the person filed a report when the bike was first discovered missing, and also filed a report when the thief was spotted the FIRST time, giving the thiefs description, and full details of the bike, including the serial number.
Ok.. and hypothetically, the person hasn't actually been caught yet, so the rest is unknown. I'm just curious because the thief was spotted a second time, and I am determined to catch his moronic ass.
Hypothetically.
EDIT: I am assuming that if the bike were to be returned, it will certainly not be in the condition that it was when it was stolen (seeing as it was brand new out of the store when it was stolen.)
I would like to get compensation for damages and transportation fees incurred due to the theft of the bike. Would that be plausible? Would I have to get a lawyer and sue? etc.etc.
Hypothetically. |

The gears were screwing up (but that is a simple adjustment that can be fixed at the shop in 10 mins). Everything else was in perfect condition.

you forgot to add hypothetically at the end so ofcourse all this is for real and therefore hypothetically, this thread serves no purpose. |

What are you talking about? Hypothetically is in there twice... therefore, hypothetically, this thread is still valid. |
