i know i brought the question up bout the creamfelds cd because it does'nt sound like the type of music oakenfold would play.how true is it from your point of view that they get engineers to do it for them?

Incorrect.

Most (if not all) mixed cds aren't actually "mixed". The dj usually has a sound engineer or two that puts the whole thing together. They pick the tracks, the order, the programming, maybe do a few mixes so that the engineer knows what it needs to sound like. The engineer then uses several different audio engineering programs to make the mixes flawles. Dude, it's not some kind of conspiracy, EVERYONE knows this. It's common knowledge.

edit
The only mixed CD as of late that's been released that the dj actually mixed was Desyn's Balance 008.

It's true. There was an interview with John 00 Fleming a while ago where he mentioned that alot of the big DJs doesn't even mix their own CDs. They have others who do this for them. I thought everyone already knew this. :conf:
Lunar Phase 7
Yeah, but I do belive some Global #Underground CD's (the early ones) are mixed live? Nick Warren 08 Brazil has some errors in it that occour during normal mixing. I could be wrong though.

could be, but does it really matter, cause 90% of all tracks on mix compilations are made from different producers, and the DJ is kinda "taking credit" for it, so even if they mix the CD themselves, the music is still made by other people, so its kind of a catch 22.

also, i dont see why the DJs shouldnt do it themselves, i mean, common, even I can make a mix-CD, and the all the DJs plays all around the world, is that just a CD prerecorded too ?

Oakey did all his GUs live. You can easily tell, since they all have mixing (or no mixing at all), just like his livesets.

Oakenfolds Tranceport was mixed live, so was his A Voyage into Trance mix CD.
guess he went tired of mixing his own mixes then
