There are a lot of restaurants there. They have all the main chains in Times Square, though why you'd want the exact same food that you can get at home when you're in NYC is beyond me. In addition to those, the theater district is also right there, which contains a lot of restaurants for pre-theater dinners.
To be honest, it's going to be impossible to recommend anything if you don't give a budget or a type of cuisine. Go to www.citysearch.com and start entering criteria. If you don't want to leave your general hotel area, here's a good start, as these are the results for "Theater District/Times Square" when you sort by neighborhood - http://newyork.citysearch.com/searc...tion=&started=1 |

I was going to say the same, until I looked and saw that there are only like 10 places listed, half of which are Sushi restaurants. |

haha yeah i noticed too but went the lazy route..
this is a silly question tho, there are tons of places to eat around times sq. i suggest you walk around a bit and pick a place, it wont be too difficult. |

I'd suggest staying out of Times Square itself, mostly touristy crap.
Try restaurant row on 46th between 8th and 9th. A lot of choice there. There's a ton of other places on 8th and 9th avenues as well. There really isn't much if you walk East (towards 6th ave). |

| Do not eat in the immediate vicinity of Times Square... many bad experiences taught me that... go over to the west (can't give you specifics cause I never go out there); I stay away from the entire area restaurant-wise altogether. |

Times Square is overpriced and the quality isn't that great... Same with Restaurant Row (overpriced).. You can find some great places to eat on 9th Ave between 54th and 46th.

I keep recommending this spot to everyone
Blue Chili - 51st between Bway and 8th. Peter (Greedy) just ate there this weekend and he can account for it's quality and decor, same goes for miss bliss/frost and barosoap. |

Yes, that's the closest my eating has gotten to Times Square in a few yrs... it's delicious.... oh and why the slash between me & fr0st?? Are we a 2 for 1 promotion? Buy one get one free? Combo deal? 2 different names for the same thing? :toothless |

if you want to stick around TS, you can always hit up Junior's. the food is pretty good and the cheesecake is just too good! its around 46st n 7th or broadway lol not sure...
BUT if you want to eat some really good food, i'd recommend Calle Ocho http://www.calleochonyc.com ..its on 466 columbus ave, between 81st n 82st! |
