The Oilers are good and they have amazing, hardcore fans. And considering how small their payroll is, they have a pretty good team that always plays well in the playoffs (I don't know about this year though).
But Toronto is Canada's team. Why?
1. Because they're part of the original 6 and
2. They have the largest following in Canada
3. They're the only Canadian team that has done reasonably ok for the last 3-4 years.
If Toronto is not "Canada's team", who is?

Growing up, I hated the Leafs. Kings whooped them in the 93'
Stanley cup playoffs. I still hate the leafs.
There are dirty players and then there are real dirty
players. Tie Domi's is known for his cheap shot at any
given moment. That thing he did to Niedermayer was just
plain wrong.
I used to like Mogilny in Buffalo, but then he became
a bitch. You've gotta hand it to Sundin though, great all
around player. CUJO, one of the best. The rest of the
players can go to hell and pray it freezes over.:toothless
This is how I feel. Swamper, don't kick me out of the forum
for this. :D |

Domi's not the smartest (or most talented) player so you can't really blame him for being an moron and (in my opinion) costing the Leafs their shot at the cup.

although the leafs piss me off sometimes I love them!!!! for all you Canadians who hate the leafs....I hope it is because you like another Canadian team better......For those in Alberta don't worry soon you won't have to worry about hockey at all....both the oilers and flames will be sold in the next 5 years because they have such loyal fans like yourselves that don't even support them......hahaha
as for the leafone thing is for sure and that is that they have the best fans in the whole NHL.....what other team can go into a visitors arena and make more noise than the home crowd......yes it happens quite a bit..... |

You can have your opinions about what teams to root for. That's up to you. But statements like these that test the boundaries of blatent stupidity must be stopped. All you have to do is watch one game and you'll see how good he is. Can you imagine facing the fastest skating and puck handling players in the world and only taking one penalty during the season???? ONE??????

Yeah, all that talent...
39 pts is pretty good, but a +5 rating on the team that had the second most goals in the Eastern Conference:rolleyes:
Take into account that all of the players facing Kaberle are pretty skilled themselves, and that Kaberle is questionable in his own end at best, add to that the fact that Kaberle is just a standard exhibit of a weak Maple Leafs defense, then as a Leafs hater, I'm glad he's on their team.:D |
